I think if you have anything nice to say about him, then you pay your respects to him on here. If you haven't, then  as they say, don't say anything. i'm not going to.

Good to see the fans giving Doug a good send off on Midlands Today.

Couldn’t help but notice that in tonight’s programme the late Sir Doug Ellis is still listed as President Emiritus. Is this just a publishers oversight or is it a title that remains beyond this mortal coil?

Tried to find something on internet machine to confirm what exactly Emiritus means.

Emeritus means they no longer work with you (e.g. they are retired) but continue to have a relationship with the organization.
So deceased official/s/persons are no longer emeritus/emerita

They're still not sure he isn't coming back so it's to be on the safe side.

I reckon they will do the respectful thing and leave his name and title in the programme for the rest of this season and discreetly drop it for next year.

Twelve months today and he hasn't come back, so I think it's safe to say he found away of taking it with him.

If there is an afterlife I wonder what famous dead people he has taught the bicycle kick to.

frank Barson, charlie Athersmith, Mush, Johnny Dixon, Pongo, and has probably had a good set too with the Bendals, fired Vic Crowe, Tony Barton, Sir Graham, and Billy Mcnneill.

I didn't know he died a year ago - I thought this was a new thread.
