Sadly this side isn't going up even with a half competent manager. he's fucked up the defence, unbalanced the midfield and stuffed us full of loans. time to rebuild.

I agree 100%, the only saving grace is that there isn't a decent side in the division this year so any kind of decent run would take us into contention.

I don't agree with the narrative that we have a group of players that should smash this division. We have a hopelessly unbalanced squad with no keeper, defence or functioning midfield. We had a much better squad last season.

Not sure about the no decent side in this division argument.

Almost every side we face is super fit, well organized and aware of their own and our strengths and weaknesses. The financial implications would appear to have concentrated minds on the task in hand apart from ours. The fact that we're big, we have massive support, we've got a great stadium, we have state of the art training facilities and a great yoot setup will not cut it.

Why was Bunn in goal? For me he's just one of the Agbonlahor/Richards/Guzan bad santa ****** brigade.

Diabolical player. Then again, diabolical manager.

I only had the match thread to follow the game by which is probably just as well.
We have been an accident waiting to happen all season.
It seems that the Chester send off was kind of the camel breaking back moment really.
Is it any surprise when you completely get the transfer window so wrong?
Watching Steer and Elphick in pre-season (and Hull with Elphick) they both seemed adequate.
Not the world's best by any stretch but certainly capable in the circumstances.
Bruce now obviously has seen for himself that he has made a very bad call in the goalkeeping department as it seems he now doesn't fancy either of the two he has brought in.
By continually playing players out of position leads to disorganisation and it's no wonder we can't dominate games.
This all lies at the Manager's door and he needs to go so that we can still hopefully salvage something from the season.

I am making my yearly trip to Villa Park for the Swansea game, hopefully we will have a new man in charge by then

The fucker should be sacked purely for wasting Jacks talent out on the wing, worst thing was against the bottom of the league, at 2.0 up you could see the implosion coming.

We are dull, defensive and boring, if we are dull, defensive, boring, and can’t hold on to a two goal lead against a shit team, what exactly does he bring to the party?
Coleslaw now, by all accounts.

Well the only person I know to bring a cabbage to the game on a regular basis was the Werewolf so he is surely the prime suspect, however if he dons his bobby's helmet he may blend in with the fuzz swarming around Aston and interrogating greengrocers.

Get rid of bruce tonight but how the fuck does a new manager do anything with our defence and keepers until january and that is without the problems of FFP because we aren't going up.
a new manager with a positive approach and the ability to organise a  team would get a hell of a lot out of the players we have. but this clown has no idea whatsoever

One positive is our ability to get late goals to win or more usually rescue games which will hold us in good stead once we have a better manager and tougher fixtures.

I haven’t read the thread. Has there been an explanation as to why Wheelan got the penalty takers job? I’d have had Bunn in front of him for the job.

I'm not sure where to start with last night. I can't help thinking we would have coped better with the sending off had it not been Chester. I can't remember the last time we easily fell apart at a sending off. We shouldn't take anything away from Preston though, they deserved something on that second half showing. That said, they were all over us in that second half and we hardly attacked apart from the last 5 minutes. That in itself was bad enough.

I can't see Bruce surviving that chaos. He should be let go, for his sake and for ours.

I'd definitely have Whelan in goal ahead of that clown Bunn.

I feel sorry for the person who not only had to suffer that game, but also return home to tell his Mrs that he's lost their dinner.

Fair play to the security bloke on the gate. Failing to spot a cabbage up someone's jumper is some going.

Cabbagegate.   On the Beeb.  Apparently it was thrown before we equalised.  This has upset Stevie.
