Bolasie had the ball for the pen and Whelan took it off him, Abraham was giving him a round of fucks on the final whistle for letting it go. Fair dos to Whelan for stepping up but fuck me, that was a shite pen. The keeper fucking caught it, it wasn’t hit hard enough to have to parry.

Bruce is taking the piss, why should we be grateful that a bloke on £3m a year has done just enough to to avoid the sack so far?

Bruce said on Talkshite that 'he deserves more respect from the fans for getting Villa to the play off final last season'.  He needed to add 'where I also failed to get a tune out of the team and turned in a completely negative performance and deserved to lose'.  Some sensible fans on Talkshite for once. Other than some Leedz wanker on right now.

When’s he going to admit that finishing in the play offs was fucking abject failure compared to the resources he had

Spot on

He lost that game when he panicked and substituted Abraham straight away. Everything after that was a foregone conclusion. The fact we were even in a position to win the game shows how crap Preston were. I thought the 1st half performance was really really poor and yet without getting out of 1st gear we were 2 up.

Everything about that game just stank of Steve Bruce and we’ve just drawn at home to the team bottom of the league.

He needs to be gone soon.

Was strange that it was Abraham and not that bone idle clown Kodjia who made way first but it didn't matter a jot given our midfield downed tools. Preston pressed our defenders high up the park and we kicked possession back to them repeatedly.

I thought the same Re the subs. Crazy

Bruce's final performance at the Theatre of the Absurd and what a crowning masterpiece.Literally stroll into a 2-0 lead.In the second half ,retreat ,stand off and  give them space to play in as though they were Barcelona and not the bottom of the table side.No attempt to keep the ball but just lump it forward and watch it come back.At 2-2 with the need for 3 points ,bring on Whelan instead of a striker. But hey losing 3-2 with 10 men and no striker,we can score when we want to but not take penalties.

Whelan should have been on 10/15 mins before, our midfield 4 were all fucked and they were running behind us every single attack.

Dunno who the ref was but why the fuck wasn’t he in charge of the 2010 league cup final.

Can't even be arsed to read the thread. I'm practically speechless after that debacle. After the first half I expected us to go on to win comfortably but even before the penalty we looked as though we'd had mogadon at half time and they'd had coke. Complete shambles second half from the penalty, the sending off, sloppy passing, dropping deep, hoofing to no one in particular, baffling substitutions (again) and someone who's scored once in 7 years  elected to take the penalty. I think that's the end for Bruce and from his post match interview he sounded like he knows it.

Agree.  However, It was an abject display from the players in the second half. No fight, absolutely nowt. No leadership

Apparently that's the first time in his career that Whelan has made a 12 yard forward pass in an opposition penalty area.

To be honest, if you had a cabbage, you were aiming at Bruce, and then missed the target...

I can't condone throwing things at the manager, but you'd have to have a pretty shit aim.

Utterly bizarre.

You are correct but the Manager also needed to sort them out positionally and tell Whelan to play in front of the back four with Grealish and McGinn going narrow, Bolasie at centre forward etc. Instead, he just throws them on randomly and expects them to sort themselves out.  Not good management at all.

The fucker should be sacked purely for wasting Jacks talent out on the wing, worst thing was against the bottom of the league, at 2.0 up you could see the implosion coming.

We are dull, defensive and boring, if we are dull, defensive, boring, and can’t hold on to a two goal lead against a shit team, what exactly does he bring to the party?

I'd be here all fucking night if I tried to set out what all the issues were with the performance tonight.

I'm having the snip on Friday and I reckon I'll still have more spunk in my shots than a Bruce team.
