Do we have to enter these competitions if the manager doesn’t want to play in them? Serious question.

You think half the clubs in the Premier League would enter if it was voluntary?

I really don’t know. I guess it’s part of the contract they have with the respective leagues.

Sky 'highlights'

Wow there is some comedy in there!

That some of that garbage was considered highlights shows just how much of a dog awful performance it was.

I think the follow up was a worse miss than the original penalty.

Genuinely one of the worst performances I've seen. Up there with Doncaster under DOL that was.

I always used to hold that up as the apogee of embarrassing cup exits. Now I don't even remember it.

I was there.

This was marginally worse.

Grow a pair Bruce. It's your side, your signings, your 'tactics' and your fault. We deserve better than that and for you to blame the players is shirking the responsibility you have in one of the most prestigious jobs in the game. Enough.

Doncaster remains the worst for me. When you look at the side we put out that night and we were still outplayed for the entire game and 3-0 flattered us.

Need some of Ad's unwavering optimism. Looks like we're sleepwalking through a season of mediocrity and it's still fucking August.

And the optimism comes from it being August and who knows we might  have a new manager before the damage is irreparable.

According to Bruce... 'we were slow and pedantic, and painful at times'.

Some highlights. The penalty was chuffing atrocious, I hate how professional players who train for hours every day are incapable of hitting a football hard and accurately from 12 yards. Pathetic, side-footed penalties piss me right off. Albert is well off the boil.

Indeed. It must've been one of the most pathetic showings since The Promotion Specialist turned up at VP. I just wonder how much longer the owners will give him before showing him the door. Maybe they've got more money than sense?
