The breathtaking stupidity of Bryan-Unsworth's agent continues to amaze me.  He sat down to dinner with two men worth 30 billion quid, plus whatever is still down the back of Tony Xia's mother's sofa and took the piss out of them.  Does he think men like that are going to forget being humiliated? Rich men are powerful men.  Powerful men have powerful friends.

Whatever business you are in, butcher, baker or candlestick maker, if you are to succeed you do not treat anybody, but least of all the very powerful, ithout respect.

What goes around comes around.  As I said earlier you don't bite the hand that feeds you.  Okay, you have pulled a stroke on Aston Villa.  You won't do it twice.

Wouldn't lose any sleep over a left back who reneged on a deal to play for Fulham. We've had enough players the last few years with mercenary type tendencies and it has done us no good.

I kind of agree but this is lad who was ‘one of our own’ in Bristol Circles.so it’s incredible how the lure of PL football turns their heads no matter how little and shitty the club a la some shittty little village slightly NW if the greatest city on earth

Blimey Brian, he's signed for Fulham, not insulted a Mafia boss by shooting his daughter at a family wedding in Sicily.  I'm sure such rich and wealthy businessman have had potential employees change their mind before, and that a Championship full back who most people had never heard of before this week getting a better offer isn't going to ruin their plans.

Just trying to amuse Martin.  A little hyperbole to set the tone of the new season.  Besides, I got mugged  seeing the Sphinx by moonlight.  Egyptians scare the shit out of me.

Fair play Brian.  The best holiday I ever had was in Egypt.  I wouldn't ever want to haggle with an Egyptian though, it's in their blood. Levy didn't stand a chance.

Not sure I’d wish injury on him. Pretty poor form yes, and hopefully he’ll regret it as a short sighted move in future.
He led us a merry dance. He sat down for a meal with our leaders after pledging himself to our club. I probably shouldn't but I take that as an insult to something I hold very dear. The Villa. I hope his underpants get infested by fire ants and his earholes turn into arseholes and shit all over his shoulders.

I think we need to get a bit of perspective here.  It was a big decision for him obviously, possibly the biggest he will ever have to make in his working life.  To equate this to the Unsworth episode is ridiculous.

I've said all I wanted to say about him. Time to move on I'm outta here.

The lesson is... even shitty tin pot clubs like Fulham, Bournemouth, And Brighton when they are in the richest league in the world can outdo one of the greatest clubs in the world when we are down. But as everyone knows form is temporary class is permanent and he will realise he has been ill advised.  By then we will have a better player than he will ever be anyway.  Completely and utterly his loss....

Seeing clubs described as “shitty tin pot clubs” just reminds me of the arrogance of Man Utd fans in the nineties.

Don't think he's been ill advised at all really. It's potential versus reality, so in reality he's got a 3 or 4 year contract on mega-money for a small club in the premiership. If he does well, he'll stay in the premiership even if fulham go down. If he does shit then at least he has the cash.. With us he had a 3 or 4 year contract on championship money with the potential of getting up and maybe negotiating a better contract or getting bought by a premiership club - no brainer if your currently on a fraction of richard's wages at Bristol.. The whole timing was bad, but i blame fulham more for that.

Eh? Non comprendez.  We are Aston Villa we will always be arrogant. It’s what our subordinate West Midlands clubs constantly complain about for God’s sake

Would you take your girlfriend back after she is jilted by her Johnny cumlately bridegroom?

Not unless he had been wearing a Johnny and even then I would be wary.
