Nah. He wants to play in the Premier League. Fair enough. It clearly doesn't matter for who.

So just him and every other footballer then.

There was obviously an agreement in place, if only in principal.

It goes on all of the time admittedly but it doesn't mean it is right or decent or that people cannot/should not feel aggrieved when it happens.

Doesn't make jibbing at the last minute any less poor on his part and us being peeved at his actions is hardly holier than thou.

I'm sure Boro felt the same about us doing it to them. Frustrating though.

I think he's fucking nuts choosing Fulham over us, premier league or not. Fulham have to be one of the most pointless clubs in England. This was the one I was not so arsed about anyway, the McGinn one was far more important and I think he's the type of player we have needed and been lacking since we've been in the championship, in fact since Delph left really. Someone who will (hopefully) get the game by the scruff of the neck in centre midfield.
I think we were looking at some left back from Ipswich as an alternative, and there is the loan market till the end of August. I think I'd still sooner see us get another centre back and a striker in anyway.

It's just annoying as he looks a good player and would give us much better balance on the left hand side.  After the last few weeks, it was also nice to be signing coveted players.  Now, I assume we're going to have cast around for emergency loan signings.  Again, with the usual warnings, I've seen Cresswell from West Ham mentioned on Twitter this morning.  Would be a good addition I reckon, but possibly unlikely as he seems to have been a nailed on regular for them the last 4 years.  I obviously have no idea what other left backs they may have signed though.  Could be Joe Fucking Bryan for all I know!

With no relevance to anything at all, Fulham are the one London club I have any time at all for.  I can't stand any of the big usual suspects like Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal, and away to Fulham is my favourite away trip in football.  Quaint old ground, decent pubs nearby, and they went up playing good football under a good manager.  Most Fulham fans I've met have been decent as well.  Minus points for the Bocanegra challenge on Delaney though.

Being peeved or disappointed is understandable as he would have been a useful signing (and may still be, who knows?) .  Slagging him for it is holier than thou unless you can honestly say you wouldn't have done the same in his shoes.  I think Fulham will do ok in the PL, and I also think if they do get relegated there is no reason why another PL club won't sign him up if he acquits himself well with Fulham.  There's also no guarantee he would eventually get PL football with us.   So short term thinking?  Not really.

Polite request : Can we lock this thread once the deal is officially done as can't like seeing this guy's name on here as he's not going to be one of us!

However if he comes to sense and he went a bit love island heads turned but came back then okay.

But I vote for him to leave this villa site .

Doesn't know what he is missing! Don't want players like that

I dont blame him, if Fulham pay him more and if he'll get games in the PL then i'd be doing exactly the same thing.

I think that's the point though Risso, you like them because they're inoffensive, or as I'd put it 'pointless', talking of which the bloke off that is a Fulham fan and he's ok. Hugh Grant I'll always be fond of for his most memorable moment 'cruising' after dark in LA and getting caught, sheer comedy gold.
I just can't accept players picking that poor excuse for a club over ours. Have they still got the Michael Jackson statue outside as well? I think that just says it all.

you have to query the commitment of someone who makes a decision to sign for one club over another (us over boro), has a medical, agrees terms and then up sticks at the whiff of something else.

don't want players like that. it should be an honour to put on that villa shirt.

was delighted to see mcginn buzzing about signing for us yesterday.
