Premiership can be ruthless at times

Psssst John, it hasn't been called that for twenty years.

I’m always behind the times

There aren't many people that can still carry off a Terry McDermott bubble perm and moustache, and neither can John, but top marks for trying.

I did have a perm in the 80s When I was ‘with it‘

Gerrard's six-month examination of every player led him to make a pick for a midfielder. A player who also played in a comparable position of our current manager.
A player who is a jokester off the field in the locker room.
A footballer with poor discipline on the field who frequently receives yellow cards.
And has been suspended for such.
Mings was a fan of clumsy and reckless yellow cards something that McGinn is also guilty of so no upgrade there

To be fair to his appointment JM is someone who has been at the club a while and seems committed he's a member of the club's leadership team and as a passionate and committed player the idea us supporters will be impressed with such determination .
Though his exbuerence can contributes to the cautions sometimes needless.

SJM is someone who doesn't have the same influence as Mings off the field as a passionate advocate for diversity and a role model for players who have emerged from the non-league. McGinn also lacks the winning credentials of Martinez and Young.

There's most obvious reasons to why McGinn was picked to me was his old school values of way he plays and his character of the pitch in regards to being one of the lads.

Making this guy captain will be the undoing of Gerrard. That was the worst team performance I've seen since we got relegated, personified by the 'captain'.

That’s probably the worst game I’ve seen him play. Mind you, I could say that about quite a few today.

It’s a crazy decision by the Scouser. It’ll have to be reversed, probably by the new inevitable manager.

It seems we're lacking leadership on and off the pitch, judging by the starting 11, subs and eventual result today.

He’s just not good enough to be a starting CM at PL level.

He’s just not good enough to be a starting CM at PL level.

Based on today neither are most of his teammates in their respective positions.

He has no chance at RCM. The logic of playing a guy who can't kick a ball with his right foot at RCM beggars belief.

Very surprised McGinn got the captaincy. I have seen nothing from this guy in a very long time to warrant that he be the captain. Missing in too many games, not sure what is going on here, but he is either struggling with being in the league or he is being coached to look shit.

I think his appointment as captain was just another fuck you to Tyrone Mings from Steven Gerrard.  It is all deeply personal now. All this bollocks by Gerrard saying Tyrone Mings has to "look him in the eye".

Mings has brain farts in most games, but the guy plays like a captain in between costing us goals. McGinn is generally anonymous is most games.
