The booking was just ridiclous. I've no idea why Footy has a thing for players getting booked. It's a bit odd although yes, he does get too many.

Footy like our players to be disciplined, nowt wrong with that.

Getting booked is just going to happen though and sometimes it can't be helped, especially when you have refs like the one we had Saturday.

Yes McGinn's was just unlucky and not at all deserved, unlike Ramsey's which was incredibly stupid and needless. Hope he learns to cut those out.

To be fair, it wouldn't have been a booking if he had been a Chelsea player. Referee was just a cheat.

McGinn looks a different player when he doesn’t have to sit.  I really hope we play three in midfielders from now on and obsess with having a ten.
We will have to switch/swap Ings and Watkins to make this work but I think it will be worth it.
As I've said before, Smith wants midfielders who can sit, pass, tackle, play and score. Hence his apparent lack of interest in a world-class DMF.
McGinn, Luiz, Ramsey, Sanson, Chukwuemeka and Buendia can do all these things (although, based on tonight, MacPhee needs to help Ramsey and Luiz in shooting practice).
Marv is a tactical player, brought in to shut things down ... which is why I was surprised to see him come on tonight.

In which case I agree with Smith but it only works if three are playing othewise you’re in a situation where you need at least one DMC.

One DMC??  It's tricky...

He was the only one talking to the ref about his decision making whilst Mings was passive.
I would have SJM as skipper.

What's this Chelsea abuse thing of McGinn that's being investigated?

It seems a Chelsea fan was shouting something sectarian at him.

Pathetic individual.
Hopefully he's identified and banned from watching football again.
I'd Imagine Chelsea will come down hard on him poor lad.
