Question marks over the Doc’s decisions but he came in, livened things up, loved the club, was desperate to win, ultimately failed but then sold on quickly to extremely rich owners (despite all the stuff about selling a majority share being too humiliating). Plenty worse out there.

Have to agree, at least he lives in the modern world. If this was plan B then I guess he has done what he said he would. Time will tell.

Just shows how pathetic Randy Lerner was. Took him and god knows how many lawyers and banks etc forever to find investment or new ownership.

I agree too and as I said before the doom mongering local rag predicted a long and ruinous takeover period.  Fair play to the Doc for getting things sorted and appearing to have done it all by himself

In his statement about no players being for sale, Bruce said Dr T "did what he could". Past tense. Think its pretty clear a full sale is just a matter of time and he will no longer have any part.

My only regret is we'll probably never see Tony's plans for Villa Park, the ones that Bruce said were unbelievable, or something like that.

I'm pretty sure Xia will share his vision with the new owners if Bruce has already seen it...it just may be that Xia wont be around to see it.

The plans belong to the club, just as the people that worked on them were, I assume, working for the club. It’s more whether those plans make good sense from a business perspective as far as the 2 new guys are concerned.

I really wish that some of us ... UNDERSTOOD.

Mr Xia was seeeking investments internally in China... the mainland, not HK.... for his other busineses for over 12 months..... as reported in the SC News.

This Spin about him being unable to fund us, because of Mainland restrictions on the export of Capital..... he's never mentioned himself.
Because it isn't true.

Yes, there wereCapital-Outflow-Restrictions placed by the Mainland Govt.... BUT.... they did not prevent nor curtail Chinese involvment and investment in Germany/Spain/Italy... even the West Midlands, where Wolves have left Mr Xia in their dust....

It is even now being spun, that Wyness brought  the US investor to us... and  he got sacked for that...if that's true, he's won his case and is £6mill better-off   :D

I really wish that some of us ... UNDERSTOOD.
  ;D

The new owners
CANNOT BUY  players.
CANNOT increase contract values to retain players
CANNOT spend a penny / cent / old aliminium coins

Because of FFP

They are the new guardians of us, and seem the most sensible in decades, business-wise. Would be great if they could  throw millions at us.... BUT...THEY CAN'T

Because of FFP

The 'Benefactor-Model' can't work now. Thanks to Mr Xia.

WE have to equate our incomings with our outgoings ..

More than EQUATE....bloody reduce it.... and we have little time to do that.....  We can't rename everything...except VP... to earn income.... but that will be for next season, as will player-sales.

This season.... we can't buy without selling... we can't invest even with 2 very rich owners....

WHICH......

THANK YOU Mr TONY...you've put us here and basically frozen us for a year or more.... through your TOTAL INCOMPETENCE

Alfititmus where have you been? If I am the new billionaire  owner I can rename the Ticket Office car park as “Olaf’s allotment” and pay £50M a year for it through one of my off shoot concerns somewhere in the world. Billionaires usually have more than a corner shop they look after. Nothing to stop me if that is what I wanted to do.
