Hate to sound negative but after all the fawning over the last 2 billionaire shysters who eventually brought us to our knees, I’ll reserve judgement on the latest set of billionaires until we’re in the clear. Once bitten and all that shit....

These chaps sound legit from a quick glance on the internet, there’s no question that they have some money.

As always let's see them in action before we cast a judgement. Edens is involved with an NBA team, so will have some knowledge of the corporate sporting world... hopefully.

I might have missed something but I'm wondering why 2 apparently unconnected tycoons are joining forces? Each could afford to buy the club according to reports. Not looking for negatives. It's really exciting and if they're serious it's up to us to fill the ground to the rafters and roar them back to the prem.

Maybe Xia was reluctant to sell a majority stake to one party so the only way acceptable was separate investors to come on-board with an understanding that they buy enough of the club between them and can then work together to have the biggest say in the club's decisions.

Good news - a UK-based gazillionaire should put to bed any further issues around paying tax bills and administration.

A reputable H&V bean counter’s approval is the best validation we can get of this new found wealth. Just need Risso to second the motion.

I’m in Bristol getting pissed so will defer to Adam’s considerable expertise.

Looks like good news though. First half of the problem in cash flow sorted, the second in FFP looks a bit harder to circumvent.

Erm, we did that last season home and away.
Erm no we didn't. Away was great and I was there for most of them. There was an average of 10.000 empty seats at home. I know we had the highest average  home attendance and I hate to admit it but Newcastle filled their ground every game when they won the league. We need our fans to get off their arses and get down to villa park.

All they need to do to make me happy is :
Get us promoted
Get us a progressive Manager
Appoint first class football administrators
Have a cohesive plan to promote our own young players
Restore our pride
Play attractive football
Get rid of  Xia asap
Have progressive plans to develop VP when we are back in the top flight
No pressure there :)

Things seem a little brighter at last but having seen previous billionaires leave as millionaires I suppose we'll all be a little cynical and suspicious until we see how this goes. However, I'm still struggling to understand why new owners/investors are prevented from injecting their funds into the business they now part own and the biggest assets of the club i.e. the best players must still be sold to pay for the sins of others. Presumably these guys want us as a big force in the Premiership but this just makes it more difficult to achieve that goal.

It’s a positive development and one which hopefully starts us on the road back to the PL. I also think that Dr Tony’s days are numbered as these guys will seek to buy him out within a year.

It’s a relief to finally feel good about the Villa again. Although our experience with Lerner and Xia do make hope that this is third time lucky.

you can only welcome this - administration would have been the least of it if Dr X hadn't pulled this deal off. i still don't fancy his chances at the first home game if he pops in. He certainly won't be doing a perimeter walk round.

Seconded. Please don't let this pair be charlatans, incompetents, fools, asset-strippers or general knobs in the manner of most football club owners. Competence and class will do for now.

Make that twice bitten...I'm reserving judgement too.

In the meantime, we've got a football club to support again! :D
