Well that’s the softening up letter to get you already for the Grealish sale.
Steve Bruce as our manager because he can’t afford the FFP hit.
High on rhetoric, low on detail and nothing on the future Financial stability of the club or how we will deal with FFP.

I got from that we’re selling to buy and nurturing youngsters as a way of dealing with our FFP restrictions.

Selling players, lowering costs, raising revenue.  Perhaps not the massive detail, but it's what he said.
Lowering costs and increasing revenue, genius.

Fans wanted him to clarify some points and he has. It might not be what people wanted to hear and for some it won't be enough. Let's just see how things pan out.

Apparently Bolton’s players have gone on strike because they haven’t been paid, so we might have a chance of at least finishing above them.

And any document containing the phrase ‘for the avoidance of doubt’ has been drafted by bloody lawyers.

Ha! Was thinking the same thing.

Well to be honest I found that quite therapeutic. Sure Jack is going and we are going to have to wheel and deal, but we still have a club and sounds like he’s up for a fight.  We all think our great club is one of the top 6 in the country but we all know we have had our ups and downs. And it’s fucking annoying our neighbours can afford our second rate goalkeeper but hey ho we are Aston Villa and they fucking know it!

Well to be honest I think the opposite, I found it very depressing.

It feels like were a sinking ship and we are throwing everything overboard to stay afloat including our prize treasure.
Whats the point of bringing through young talent if we have to flog them at the first sign of them looking decent?

Yeah sure teams like Crewe have thrived on doing that but for a club like ourselves I find it embarrassing and depressing.
I wouldn't mind selling players like Jack if it would mean investment in players, but it doesn't look like were going to see that money.

Bruce is probably the best Manager available at keeping us up but Its going to be mid table at best unless a decent offer comes in. Our youth players like look very encouraging, but Someone like Bruce isint the manager to bring them through and give us entertaining football.

All the blame on FFP seems to be an excuse to me, I'm not saying its not part of it but If we had the money we could find the loopholes that other Clubs have been able to use.

Not being able to compete in the championship makes for a very dull season indeed.

How about
“I can confirm that I have made sure that there is enough money to fund ongoing working capital requirements”

It will be really interesting on the transfer front?! I'd imagine Di Matteo's decent signings will be gone and our best local player for fifty years too.

Bruce's signings? We'll be stuck with them or paying a percentage of their wages until their contract expires.

Gary Shaw says hello.

Mark Walters would like a word, as well.

Mark Walters and his step over trick.. nah.

Tony Daley would be a better shout than Walters I reckon.

Daley was probably my favourite player, when I was a boy.  Perhaps I should have said a villa fan too -  I know Daley is still close to villa but was he a fan?

I hate em with a passion, but Spurs have been doing that sell to buy thing for 20 years now and they’ll do it again when they sell Kane and Ali. The only FFP loophole is promotion quickly after relegation and we didn’t do it.

Now we’ve got to do it by another way other than just throwing our money away.

The difference is Spurs sell and try to buy better or invest in more players which is fine, we are not going to be able to do the same I'm afraid.

Agreed. I love Daley but I was mortified when Walters left.
And yeah, Daley is a Villa fan.

Some years ago there was an interview on SSN with some Villa fans before or after a game, can't remember which one, one of them was Tony and Sky didn't have a clue it was him and just lumped him in with the other fans, twats.
