No, the stated policy is exactly that. They said as much at their annual trust meeting the other day.

They said that they trusted Fulham fans would be good judges of character as to who they sell their tickets to.
yeah, ie bring, mates etc.

Either way as far as I am concerned if it was us I'd rather that than than give the opposition additional blocks of tickets.

However you feel about what they have done, I simply don't accept that if the boot was on the other foot you would think it a good idea to return 20k tickets to the opposition and give them the advantage on the day.

There were 2000 of us at Boro and 25000 of them and it didn't give them an edge on the pitch or in volume.

Mixing tourists among the small number of them who do make a bit of noise is going to make them flatter than they always are. Twatty clappers wont make up for it.

Sorry to post this here but I figure most of you aren't checking the ticket thread too frequently - any chance someone has 2 spare references available? Some returns have gone back on sale to those with 1+ booking history. Given my attendance has all been away games I'm in a bit of a fix....any help would be super appreciated. Thanks!

This is just nonsense.

So in their shoes your suggestion would be let the opposition have approx 55,000 tickets and we'll take approx 25,000?  If so, thank fuck you're not involved in any strategy for the club.

I was surprised when I saw how many tickets Fulham allowed their season ticket holders to have but I understood it. It's as big a game for them as it is for us so you can't blame them for wanting as many of their fans there as possible.

We're taking a French lad to the game on Saturday, he's also a teacher. He's on a 2 year secondment here to teach yam-yams how to speak French. It's his first trip to Wembley and he's very excited.

Can you ask him to get the thick twats to speak English first

Rather than look at the numbers of fans on either side or the ticketing arrangements, I'd just say that it's the fans that show the greatest intensity and give the team unconditional support throughout the game that will give their team the best chance of succeeding.
Sounds a little crass, but it's true!

I don't think that's a crass view. Far from it.

Villa Park the other Tuesday was a cauldron, you don't get that at Craven Cottage and adding 20,000 day trippers or tourists on top wont change that at Wembley, no matter how many wanky clappers they give them.

In years gone by, clubs like Hull and Wigan who have similarly small followings like Fulham, returned tickets so their opponents with larger support could go.

You have been supporting the stance Fulham should have returned tickets so Villa could have them rather than sell them in the way they have been.  Following that rationale, if we were in their shoes you would be advocating giving back tickets so the opposition fans could have them.  I can't see how that is a bizarre interpretation at all.

The ticket allocations work both ways though

I remember an Arsenal season ticket holder lady friend of mine was well pissed off with me when she found out I got 3 FA Cup final tickets on the 5+ games criteria and she couldn’t get one even as a ST holder

She felt Arsenal should have had a larger allocation than Villa because they got bigger crowds and had more ST holders

she had the last laugh mind

Football fans are segregated for a reason, it is sad, but necessary. I remember the 1970s. For me the behaviour of Fulham football club towards the sale of tickets flies in the face of common sense and is "asking for trouble". It only takes one or two idiots in a mixed crowd to set off serious public order issues and whilst Villa and Fulham have pretty good records of fan behaviour these days, if God forbid, there is trouble, their short term money grabbing antics will look pretty embarrassing at best. I am amazed the Met have not had something to say on this.
