There's a difference between being a small(ish) club and being small time. Small time is invading the pitch after Boro ;)

or Derby perhaps, or looking to maximism sales when you know you've got what 18000 fans.
That is such an arrogant comment.  Just because they have an average attendance of 18-20k home fans it doesn't mean they only have 18k supporters.  If they can fill their end with casual fans who will wear white and cheer for them then why the fuck wouldn't they do that?  Should they say hands up Villa you are far bigger we wont even bother turning up?  Or should they be doing all they can to give their team the best possible advantage?

If the boot was on the other foot you would be furious at suggestions we offer the opposition any small advantage and would be suggesting we do all we can to keep the other sides allocation down.  A thousand or so scattered Villa fans in Fulham areas will make no tangible difference to the support on the day.  Offering us another block ok 10-15,000 tickets for a bigger sea of claret and blue would.

We used to pride ourselves on being classy.  I can see why other fans often thing we're just self entitled and arrogant.

I don't know. They give 7000 tickets away to other supporters every home game and their club has admitted they gave 5 tickets per season ticket holder so that a secondary market could be created as "Fulham fans can be trusted as to who they sell the tickets on to."

This was a naive decision and has created a significant tout market.

In years gone by, clubs like Hull and Wigan who have similarly small followings like Fulham, returned tickets so their opponents with larger support could go. Given there will be thousands of Villa who have been to games this season who cannot go, this seems unfair, while there are Tottenhams fans flogging £60 tickets at £100 plus a pop on Twitter. Yes there's arguments to be had that they ought to have assigned their tickets and what not, but ultimately you'll have 15,000 extra clappers on Saturday than perhaps there ought to have been.

We're taking a French lad to the game on Saturday, he's also a teacher. He's on a 2 year secondment here to teach yam-yams how to speak French. It's his first trip to Wembley and he's very excited.

Fulham quite rightly want to give themselves the best possible chance in this game.  They want a sea of white.  Giving villa another 10-20k of tickets would have disadvantaged them.  Having some tickets in the hands of touts and Villa fans dotted around won't.  If I was in their shoes I'd have done exactly the same.

I doubt any club returned tickets so as the opposition could take more fans, it was so as they wouldn't be stuck with having to pay for them. Personally I think the way they're doing it is daft, but they are still fully entitled to do it.

My boss has just offered me a free ticket with him in the Fulham end.  I just don't think I can do it and will have to settle for TV if my one other possible chance of a ticket doesn't come off!

Either way, having an actual stated policy of wanting to create a secondary market is in my view idiotic. There cannot be a legitimate aspiration to create a sea of white clappers as there wont be full occupancy and all its done is allow Fulham season ticket holders to profiteer.

Go to the game, much less stressful and you'll still have a cracking day.

Any suggestions for venues showing game. Requirements are suitable for kids and predominantly villa fans?
My wife and uncle are watching it in the Northfield British Legion

Just down the road from where I live (but I will be at Wembley)! UTV

The stated policy is not wanting to create a secondary market, they are hoping fans will bring along mates and in the large part I suspect that will happen.  Giving the opposition a potential advantage in arguably the most important game in their history would, in my view, be more idiotic.

No, the stated policy is exactly that. They said as much at their annual trust meeting the other day.

They said that they trusted Fulham fans would be good judges of character as to who they sell their tickets to.
