Agreed. Hottest Summer in decades and we haven't had new shirts on sale for almost all of it. That's throwing away money.

This really is an issue between Fanatics(who run the club shop/website) and Luke Roper really

He designed it. They make it, distribute it and sell it.

Both of them work on behalf of Villa.

From Pravda:

Aston Villa’s new home, away and goalkeeping have done so unbelievably well, it’s even taken us by surprise!

Original figures saw us understandably rely on historic data over the past two seasons of life in the Championship as we took collection of stock for the first few weeks of launch.

However, they’ve been completely blown out of the water with sales up almost 750% across all three kits since becoming available – outperforming the last five season launch sales.

In fact, we have sold stock for eight weeks in just under two weeks.

Retail Contracts Manager, Rasoul Didarzadeh spoke of “unbelievable appetite” for the strips from our fanbase and a “huge determination” within the club to bring forward the next batch of stock.

The incredible figures recorded have led to a shortage in the Villa Store and from our Online Store too in certain sizes – but we’re working hard to rectify the situation.

As it stands, we’re expecting new stock at the end of August due to the fact that it has already been dispatched from source.

However, club chiefs are working hard to speed up the process once it arrives in the UK.

The home, away and goalkeeping shirts are now back on pre-order so if you put your name down for them now, you’ll get them as soon as they become available, which could well be sooner than expected.

Our training wear range has also sold exceptionally well – and you’ll be seeing new lines hitting our outlets over the next few weeks.

If in just 2 weeks, they sold what normally takes 8 weeks to sell, that does explain why there's an issue.

However, given the apparent 'shortcut' we built into the supply chain, it would be nice to be able to get some more in before the end of August.

That said, you'd expect a 750% increase in sales to mean that most people who want one have already got one! That doesn't seem to be the case - it seems that despite the issue with the 'not blue' sleeves, virtually our entire fan base is after these!

That 750% increase sounds a bit like 1984 speak to me.  750% increase on when?  I absolutely do not believe we’ve sold 7.5 times more kits on a like for like basis than last year.

Bad news if the home shirt is selling well. That means we will have shit, non-Villa, home shirts for the forseeable future.

This is like Brexit and Trump all over again. You can't trust the public.

Trump is elected and it has a global effect, the Brexit vote affects a nation - Villa launch a shirt without blue sleeves and a man in Yardley is upset :) ......only joking buddy !

The restocks have already been dispatched but won't be in stock for a month? Are they sending them using one-winged carrier pigeons?

Only anecdotal but my mate at work who doesn’t buy the Villa kit has been annoyingly excited about this one since he saw it online and has now bought both the home and away tops.

GQ magazine vote the Villa kit as this season’s best in the Championship.
