Away kit's fine. Very clean and traditional.

Home is a big disappointment. I'm trying to think like a designer. Maybe solid blue sleeves wouldn't work with the two claret shades? In which case he should've gone with the darker shade. Really don't like the side panels.

I don't like the Luke logo. Looks fussy and there's too much heraldry going on.

As already said, it's not a bad shirt but it's not a good Villa one. We look like Scunthorpe.

Fuck me, we haven't got blue arms on the shirt and people are having a meltdown.  I'm all for tradition, but where does tradition start and end?  To some younger people, this will be a replica of the first shirt they ever owned, so they'll be delighted - older fans won't like it, but let's be honest, it's only for one season, and when all is said and done, it's mainly kids and teenagers that buy them anyway.  Look at the Muller repro shirts - they sold like wildfire, yet I thought the kit was shocking.

Perhaps those dissenters should ask Luke to go full traditional next year and make them a chocolate shirt made from lambswool. Folks, we really have bigger things to worry about than the colour of our sleeves let's face it.

But not in a thread about the new kit.

Which is shite by the way.

I get the feeling that the kit is aimed at the Twitter generation,, which means us old arses have got something else to moan about.

If only it was the only thing we had to moan about!

£50 for the home shirt.

Remind me, what are the benefits for fans we were promised as part of this deal?

We get to save ourselves £50 if we don't like it?

You get to wear a newer version of an 80s kit with rubbish sleeves and a terrible logo from a purveyor of chav tat.  For a mere fifty quid.

Honestly, some fans eh, never happy.

You mean you’ve forgotten already?

“As both retail partner and kit manufacturer, Fanatics will operate a full vertical-manufacturing model, meaning the new kit, bearing the LUKE 1977 brand logo, will be managed by a single company from production to point-of-sale. This means fan merchandise enjoys faster speed-to-market in an increasingly on-demand world”

The more I look at the home kit the more I like it. It’s ok to be a bit different sometimes.

Not keen on the home, no blue sleeves feels like a kick in the teeth. I expected a bit more tradition from the Villa fan who has produced this. Maybe in 2-3 months i'll be happier with it but my initial reaction is one of big disappointment. Its definitely an update of the 83-85 kit but it also looks like the West Midlands Village kit from numerous version of Pro Evolution soccer. The claret looks a lot better though and if i had to pick between this or the similar pinker version from Diadora in 01-02 i would pick this latest one...... but still,  big disappointment.

Been having a lunch time twitter/facebook trawl. Seems the club have hit on a winner

Fingers crossed it brings in some much needed income. Seems we can make good decisions after all.

i just dont get some of the comments i've seen on the internet that are delighted we havent got blue sleeves. "Thank god no more blue sleeves!" says one. THEY ARE OUR COLOURS FFS!

Disappointed yet again. Wanted darker claret and sky blue sleeves. Looks a bit 1980's to me, don't like the stripes either. Wont be spending £50 on that.

So let's recap :

Owner doesn't know how to run a football club
Massively in debt
Can't buy new players
No football business acumen at board level
Hate the new kit
Languishing in the 2nd tier

Another car crash of an era following AVFC.
Don’t worry Tone made a statement and Bruce is still the manager.

I just don't get the opposite moaning. It is claret and blue FFS
