we still need at least two wins for the playoffs to be guaranteed. At the moment I can see us doing a Leeds 2016/17

I've really loosing faith in this team. Just when are the leaders going to step up. No excuses we should have gone to Norwich and had a right go from the first minute. We just let the game drift and suddenly 2-0 down and chasing the game. We only played on the front foo from this point. Terrible tactics yet again from Bruce. How negative will he be in the play offs? Just not good enough, I'm afraid.

How does Grealish escape criticisim. Goal aside, he was fucking garbage

He worked his bollocks off (in my opinion)

Good point, he always puts the shift in, just not effective today.

Absolutely. And what's this "goal aside" shite? Why would you choose to ignore an attacking player doing the most important thing an attacking player can do?

Grealish and Bjarnason were the only two outfield players to escape criticism today, as far as I'm concerned.

From now on he needs to start with Kodjia. The man needs to be a hundred percent for those playoff games.

It's been my considered opinion since we were relegated that we would be down here for a very long time.  I think I may have posted something about it but can't remember so it's not that I am now jumping on a Bruce Out bandwagon, I've voted to sack him each time the poll has been re-set.

It really does frighten me that I may never see my team play in the top-flight of English football ever again.  Extreme?  Maybe, but for me it's a sobering thought.

The appointment of RDM was less than inspiring and the appointment of Bruce almost as bad.  I'm all for stability but we need to be stabilised by people who know what they are doing and that includes appointing the right manager to bring about that stability.  Bruce is not the answer.

I was never 100% sure that Ferguson was the brilliant tactician that the media made him out to be, although people will point out that twenty-five years of trophies disproves that and, to a degree they have a point.  What Ferguson was good at was, for most of his time he surrounded himself with good coaches, people knew what needed doing and advised him so, and he had the ability to listen.  I'm very upset about this today.

All down to Bruce today. Sets up as a defensive unit with 1 striker against a poor team. It's these decisions that have cost us.

Today was all about attacking from kick off with a bit of aggression. Yet it's all too slow and sidewards. Sick off Bruce. The only thing is his playoff record...

Time to completely change the team now in the run in to see who wants it

Stay in this league and we'll just hire some crap underachiever like Chris Coleman. Pulling power dims and before you know it we're Leeds United.

The likes of Wolves & Fulham have been down here for a while, but they've managed to get there act together now. Perhaps if the VP hierarchy looked at what they're doing right in order to play attacking & very successful football, we might just have a better chance to build something which doesn't necessitate spunking multi-millions on aged ex-Premier players - who should be either be hanging up their boots or buggering off to the MLS.

The galling thing is that while we could possibly rip up the Villa Engine thing and get a leftfield, tactically aware coach who scours the world for a team which wins in the way we think football should be played, our leitmotif is to say 'we need to be back we we belong' so we'll go for the next cab off a very mediocre rank and spend horrendous amounts of money doing so.

You could well be right (unfortunately), but the parachute money has all been squandered now: so no throwing umpteen millions on overpriced & overpaid chancers. Well, that's assuming the owner intends to stick to FFP rules - & doesn't decide to chance his wallet to achieve his glorious 5-year-Plan of world domination...

He's a talent but he does slow the game down. That suits Bruce tactics I suppose but I'd prefer more pace in a championship team

A special mention for Hogan, rarely have we had a player who makes such little impact.   13 touches in a game of football is embarrassing, no matter what excuses are made for him.

If he'd gone for that cross with his head at 2-1 it might have been a different story. God only knows what he was trying to do trying to get a foot on it. Grabban needed to be up top at that point.

Know what I'd prefer? A team that puts their boot through the ball when they're seven yards from goal. Constantly passing it around the box and conceding possession is getting right on my tits.

I was talking to the old man earlier today - he supports ManU but always asks me about Villa. Knocking on a bit now and doesn’t really know about what’s happening with either club, but when I said we’ll probably make the playoffs, the first thing he said was ‘I hope they don’t choke’ I hope we don’t either, but we probably will. The sad thing is we’ve got a squad that should get us out of this league- but only 50/50 chance at best in my view that we will. That’s down to the manager really.

I think our defence was very poor today.  They looked shaky everytme Norwich attacked ,we yet again played like a team of individuals not a team, our players running off the ball is woeful. If we lose again on Tuesday we won’t be dead certs for the playoffs. Leaving us looking nervously over our shoulders for the last four games.
