That is automatic promotion up in smoke, and on that form we might not make the play offs let alone win them.

Pissed off.

Good comment on sky

Too much reliance on individual players and not enough of a plan.

Boooooooooo

Fucking shit. No fight. No tactics. No plan. Out fought, out thought and deservedly beaten. Going up? With Bruce in charge? We'd get fucked every week.

Thanks, Oz. Agree completely. Nothing else needs to be said.

I think sometimes you just have to take your hat off to the opposition and accept that you've lost to a truly great team. It happens. Add to that having to step out in front of a partisan, passionate home support in a packed out colossus of a stadium and you can see why they struggled, it must have been like stepping into a cauldron. We won't face that every week.

I posted this at Lunchtime:

This thread is way more pessimistic than it should be imo
Granted they have good home form but only won 1/8

Back on track Villa, come on

Yup. We only struggle against the teams that can play football. I can't see Bolton outplaying us today. It will be a fight but we should have too much for them. A very handsome Villa win today and we're all left to wonder how we managed to lose to QPR. 5-0 Villa

We struggle defending set pieces.

Saw Bolton a fair bit in league one last year and they scored a fair few from corners, David Wheater (remember him) scored about 10 for them.

They will target Johnstone and also Bree given he's out of position and not the biggest.

If I can see it, SB surely can see it?!

The match I was dreading, Bolton nick one from a set piece and then stick men behind the ball and we don't have a clue how to break it down.

Not good. Automatic promotion is over.

If we don't sort out our defending from corners (Johnstone come off your line and actually catch it!) Boro will be looking forward to seeing us.

It’s not Bruce’s fault that Bjarnason went to sleep

Nope, but it is his fault that the last half an hour was fucking horrible because we had Jack and a drunk looking Thor as our entire midfield against 5 of them, every time Jack got the ball in the last 20 he had 3 players around him because they knew that the only other thing we had was a long hoof that their defence were happy defending.  That was, in my opinion, worse than the Lambert clusterfuck against Bradford because at least in that game we scored.

The Wolves game was the highlight of the season, we're reduced to our normal inconsistency of early in the season.
We never looked like scoring today and a place in the top 6 is still far from certain if this continues.

Bruce certainly looked pi**ed off on the touchline the last 20 minutes as we had no idea how to break them down.

Last week was just a lucky coming together of the team which has not happened very often.

We’ve become small time. The Wolves game was our cup final. We’ve just shit the fucking bed since.

Hugely disappointing. That's any chance of automatic gone now, we've shit the bed. I'd didn't expect it to be us that would but we have, the pressure got to us.

Need to make sure we consolidate a play off spot and hope for the best.

Utter, utter shit but all very predictable after Tuesday night. No plan B when we go a goal down, lamp as many strikers on as possible and hope for the best. Even at Sheff Wednesday we were very fortunate to win that game.

We will fail spectacularly in the play offs, we will have the most pressure on us and our players will bottle it.

Embarrassing and unacceptable. For a club of this size, with the squad we have, it’s an utter disgrace to have bottled it at this stage of the season. The last two games have been fucking dismal.

Is that Conte's post match interview from midweek?

I so agree with you Mersey. My missus frequently bollocks me along the lines of "why did you have to bring up your four sons to support a shit team." What she doesn't get is that although it's hard to argue with that, it's in the blood and the emotion takes over from the logic. The last week sums up my 40 + years of supporting the Villa. Wonderful high moments followed by gut wrenching lows. But we still keep supporting them because they are our club.
UTV !!
