I'll go 2-0 to us. Grabban with both.

That would be perfect. For some reason, despite him being their top scorer this season they really don't like him.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Sunderland. They seem to conduct themselves a little better.

I definitely have a soft spot for them, and I hope after Tuesday, they win all their games and stay up.

Phil Bardsley scored the winner that night.

Houllier left the field to chants of "sacked in the morning" from the Holte End.

We were in the bottom 3.

Edit: Steve Bruce was manager of Sunderland and they went sixth after the game but us buying Bent as you say Paulie knackered his time there.

Eamonn on the first page. Chuckle.

Ha.
I think Heskey missed an absolute sitter in this game. Not uncommon, mind you but this was open-goal stuff.

I’m one of the few who’ve gone for a draw in this one. We always struggle up there. On paper, we should beat them comfortably, but we always seem to fk up in the so-called easy games. Prove me wrong Villa! FTF!!

I'm not too sure where you got that from. The last four times we've played up there, we've won 3.

based entirely on perception Clampy, I readily admit, I don’t do stats when it comes to posting on here! 4 matches is hardly an extensive statistical sample though mate.

Apparently are no easy games, but if we are serious contenders there should be no excuses in this game.

Something I find hard to understand under Bruce is that we seem far too nice and allow teams to gain confidence in games.
There has been exceptions of course, but I would like us to really get into Sunderland from the kick off and rub salt in the wounds.

In the home game Keenan’s inexperience was shown up by O’Shea and was a major reason why we struggled to impose ourselves. That should not be a factor tonight. If we approach the game in the right we then we should have far too much for them.

Grabban should start ahead of Hogan on current form.

I like him. Something of the unorthodox about him.

With that beard, he has something of the Orthodox about him.

Stadium of Light must be one of the most kindest away grounds for us. We've lost one game up there in over 12 years and that was under Remi Garde.

By contrast our record is useless at Newcastle.

On the first leg of a 650-mile round trip from Sussex. My last visit to Sunderland was that 3-1 capitulation under Garde but I feel pretty confident we can win this one

Ha! You must be mad. Even more of a reason for wanting an away win tonight, Frank.
