Why are we restricted to 41 overs? Why can't we play on to make up for the overs we've lost?

The rules say that a game must have a cut off point, they can’t play on until a result is confirmed. That said Cricket does have a habit of shooting itself in the foot when overs are lost. Unfortunately I don’t think the light will be good enough to enable the full 41 overs to be bowled anyway.

The Floodlights have been on since about 14:30pm as I can see them from my desk, its bright and sunny as well currently

A ludicrous rule. The cutoff point should be when the overs are bowled, within reason. If you can play on until seven on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday you should be able to do the same on a Saturday. Seems like another rule designed to boost the sunny Southern counties. And talking of which, any news on whether Kent are going to get a points deduction?

Haven’t seen anything yet.

Looks like we are going to fall agonisingly short. Weather cost us a chance of winning the One Day Cup and now it could cost us promotion.

It ain’t over yet. We are still top & still have to play Sussex & Kent. It’s still in our hands.

Typical British climate!  So much time lost yesterday. .....now bright sunshine! Another 5 overs and the game was ours! Still an interesting finish to the season coming up! Need to thrash Leicestershire next week to start with....

I only said "could". We are still favourites. Be nice to beat Leicester and open up a massive advantage over one or both of the Home Counties teams again.

Yet another player released by Yorkshire, Azeem Rafiq. Might get a game for them next season at this rate, seems like preparing for life in Division Two.

Toss was uncontested so naturally we put them in. They’ve lost 4 in 10 balls and are 45-6.
