Aye.

Imagine if we actually had a club with a bit of pedigree on our doorstep; a ruthless outfit that could have taken advantage of our travails.

Instead we get That Lot.

It takes the pressure off when were struggling for sure, but I think can lead to complacency when we're better placed.

I suppose they could celebrate that, their sheer ineptitude in some way stifles our chance of success. And they'll get to go to the seaside more than us next year.

I’ve just remembered something.

An hour or two after the game, outside the Aston Social with a load of others, along came a Merc with a fella hanging out the  sunroof saluting the crowd.

The fella was Ian Taylor.

Please tell me this is true...
It certainly is mate.  Massive smile on his face as he came past giving it loads.  Magic

I also lost my Dad this week. He wasn’t a Villa fan or really into Football at all but he always took an interest in my various rants and raves about the Villa with a wry smile. I thought of him today as me and my son celebrated knowing he’d have had a suitable little knowing smile and a cheeky comment to keep me from getting carried away. I put that down to his Yorkshire heritage. Great win today, super performance by the whole team with Jack absolutely superb.

Up the Villa!

The beauty is that whilst they are obsessing  about us and fantasizing about us falling foul over FFP they are issuing financial warnings and by all accounts are going to lose an astronimical sum for a team languishing around the relegation zone of the championship.

If I were them I'd pay more attention to their situation than ours, but then they wouldn't be noses if they did that would they?

Take notice of their ongoing financial meltdown rather than obsessing about us?! Come on AJ, you know their M.O.'s much better than that. ;)

Really sorry to hear that fella. Nothing can make up for such a loss but I hope this win and promotion this season brings a little cheer to you.

Remember the Sports presenter on Sky News called Chris Skudder?

This is what he tweeted after the game...

https://twitter.com/chris_skudder

That's always their fall back option after a defeat, we all live in the shires (and Erdington) and have our Butlers inform us of the result.
What a twat. Do bloser go full kit wanker in town?

This business of never any Villa fans in the city centre amuses me. How often do you see Blue shirts in the city centre? I mean, really?

Regardless of what Shankly said, football is never more important than life or death, but it does have the capacity to pick us up in the darkest of times.  My condolences to you, AV82EC.

Is this "you never see them in town" nonsense based on us not being like them, in that they're easily identifiable because you can fucking guarantee that all of them, be it jewellery, attire, phone case, all of them, somewhere about their person have got that bollocks bollocks on show, whereas we look like, well, just people?

Surely the obvious answer is that the match has finished and people go home? If we beat them it's par for the course Birmingham suppose if they beat us they have to go out on the piss and celebrate.

Also we would tend to be at the match, rather than shopping in town when the game is on.
