I thought we were decent first half and probably deserved to go in a goal up. Class told in the end though and it was one of those games even at 1-0, I felt comfortable.

7 wins on the trot is some fucking going whatever league you're in.

Jedinak had a great game and although Bjarnason probably felt hard done by, it proved a good decision. It was very noticeable that he left the field well ahead of the others whilst they celebrated - poor form.

Very strange behavior. He really didn't hang around, not even a handshake. He was the first player off the pitch from either side.

No bother. He probably needed a piss. He was immense today, and that’s the main thing.

I was out all afternoon, in a pub with no bloody mobile coverage and sketchy wifi. Sounded like I missed a great win.

Then I came home and watched the highlights. What a win, what a pair of goals, what a stadium, what a noise. What a football club.

Did you see Bruce after the first goal?

Close to tears, I thought.

Yes, looked it.

Other than the 5-1, I cant remember a more comfortable performance against them.  Blues just froze IMO.

Cotterill gave an honest summing up, said they deserved nothing from the game and that the occasion got to some of his younger players.
Dave yes I listened to that in the car on the way back. Really impressed with that guy. However did you hear the next caller, a blose, ranting on about how Cotterill is not good enough to manage their club and finished with "he should be in charge of a club like Nuneaton" . Deluded is not the word....

As funny as the Nose who claimed Terry should have been booked; that Blues were all over us when they kept the ball on the floor and that we're a poor side.

I did see the extended footage. Very close to losing it, wasn't he?

4 mins in and you can see him heading off. As you say, he may have wanted to avoid doing a Lineker on the pitch.

Great result.
Poor connection on ESPN 3 but enough to see how bad the pitch is.

Bjarnason was probably just disappointed not to start.

Blose weren't as shit as is being made out, they had the best chance of the first half and right up until our goal were frustrating us. Once we scored their heads dropped but they're no worse than most of the teams we've beaten at VP. I'd rather focus on how professional and decent we were. That Grealish roll for Adomah's goal and the cute Hoor's howitzer, just magical...

Watched it with Olofs Beard of this parish in Farringdon, London. Plenty of screens showing Villa but audio was of two non-entities in the Preemier playing each other.

I genuinely thought Small Heath were fucking terrible. They looked utterly out of their depth - as their manager said after the game.

The keeper shat himself and whacked it into touch any time we chased him down, they struggled to string three passes together and looked feeble at the back.

We had the team mentality to make them look poor. First time for some years when we have a team who believe in themselves.

Excellent first class performance showing the difference between us and them. It was obvious from the start how much every Villa player on the pitch was playing from the heart.
