I still worry about Hogan, despite the recent goals.  14 touches today, according to Whoscored.  Obviously one of those was the goal so that's great, but other than that he offers nothing.  No runs, no touches, no build up play, he really is just there to tap it in.

Spot on. I said much the same at the match. He’s never in the game. Grabban will be first choice before long I think.

Yes, 5 goals in 5 games is poor?.....Come on, Hogan needs support up front. Service to him apart from the goal was lacking today. He worked extremely hard off the ball.

Who said 5 in 5 is poor?

There are strikers who score goals but also participate in the rest of the game. Look at how we used to main about the service for Bent, then Benteke came in and showed what a difference an all-round player can make.

The build up to the Hogan goal was superb

Putting Onomah out wide isn’t really working.  We really could do with Green being on the bench as a wide option.
Putting Onomah out wide very close to  place near Seven Sisters Road will help in my opinion.

Two wins without playing on top form is what's needed during a long season. Over a week to rest and prepare for that lot.

The goals we conceded were poor and from our own doing; a wild hack by Elmo and Terry switching off at the end, but we scored some good goals and I actually thought we were comfortably better than them. Their build up play was slow and lacked the incisiveness we displayed at times and only Dyer looked dangerous.

I was in line with the Grealish 'dive' and the decision looked ridiculous. You could also tell by the players' reactions. The substitutions seemed odd especially as both had just been involved in the goal.

There was definitely some complacency, and I do think Hogan needs to offer more, despite his goal scoring form, whilst Hourihane is suffering a dip and Onomah needs to apply himself more (potentially a good player in there, but it doesn't show up consistently enough). However, after the debacle at Brentford, I'd never have thought we'd win the next six so I can't knock it.

There were enough warnings to Burton that we were playing that ball as Adomah got caught offside a number of times before the excellent ball from Snoddy for the goal.

Made hard work of it but we fully deserved the win and played some really good stuff at times.
Was Grealish unlucky to be booked for diving? I thought it was a pen but then I’m clearly biased.
Grealish was immense, by the way.
Watching from Upper Witton End that was a nailed on pen as the  defender caught his shin. The Ref was in a stupid mood today.

Perhaps if we played another player up top , Hogan wouldn’t be so isolated .

We have enough trouble controlling midfield with three in there. Which two do you think would be up to it?

Thought Hourihane was poor today - could have played Davis alongside Hogan for a while.

Oh, and another thing - great to see Snoddy come out of the dugout to celebrate Jack's goal with him. Seems like we've got some good team spirit going

Elmohamady - what the shivering fuck?

That's really all I have to say. #9s need to be there for the tap-ins and Hogan was. I don't see the point in criticising. He's finally doing what we bought him to do.

I'm glad we had a bad game and got a win ironically. It's what good teams do. And actually a shake up before our next game drives out complacency. Great result.  Come on Villa. Believe

6 wins on the bounce and one of the favourites for automatic promotion yet people still moan, probably the “fans” that don’t go down the matches.
Mate I go to every match and that was unnecessarily painful and fans who can't/didn't go have total right to moan if they want to.

The referee was absolutely diabolical.
