A win is a win, thought start of 2nd half we were trying too hard to score the perfect goal rather than just trying to get 2/3 clear.

Thought one iffy pass aside Thor played well, Jack is the forward driving force & Hogan ran himself ragged.  Hutton again did ok at left back.

Actually think it’s a shame that Spurs didn’t recall Onomah, would far prefer to Green come on for Adomah than Onomah who for me is the only one who isn’t prepared to put his body on th line for the cause.

Referee haha!!

I still worry about Hogan, despite the recent goals.  14 touches today, according to Whoscored.  Obviously one of those was the goal so that's great, but other than that he offers nothing.  No runs, no touches, no build up play, he really is just there to tap it in.

I thought he ran his arse off today. As for only being there for tap ins, a tad harsh considering some of the headers he's put away recently.

The thing is as well that his movement creates the tap ins so he's making goals certainties when he does it.

Well I thought we made hard work of that. Seems odd that we played poorly yet crafted some superb goals. Can't knock playing below par again but picking up another three points - essential today given the way other results went. Ref was a twat - seemed determined to interpret anything like a foul in the box as a dive and a yellow. Listening to the brief phone-in after the game was as odd as ever - 'Tom', who seems to call in after every game, thought it was an exciting game and we could have easily won by 5 or 6 (obviously watched a different game to me); and the blue-nose who called in and couldn't resist talking about Tom and the Villa. Roll on next Sunday

Made hard work of it but we fully deserved the win and played some really good stuff at times.
Was Grealish unlucky to be booked for diving? I thought it was a pen but then I’m clearly biased.
Grealish was immense, by the way.

Spot on. I said much the same at the match. He’s never in the game. Grabban will be first choice before long I think.

Not the best today .....
You would not have changed the starting team BUT there was no balance on the bench
This meant the changes just left the team without players in the right position
The bench didn't need the amount of holding midfielders/defenders today but needed more attacking threat eg green
First name I think on bench next week could well be Gabby

6 wins on the bounce and one of the favourites for automatic promotion yet people still moan, probably the “fans” that don’t go down the matches.
Almost every around me in the Holte thought we were for the most part rubbish.

It's good to hear that some things never change!  :D

Yes, 5 goals in 5 games is poor?.....Come on, Hogan needs support up front. Service to him apart from the goal was lacking today. He worked extremely hard off the ball.

Pleased with 3 points. Some great Villa goals. Johnstone should have come for cross which Chester had to head out for a corner leading to their first goal. Chester wasn't happy with him. For me game turned on questionable substitutions at a questionable time allied to the sh-ttiest of the sh-t referees we seem to attract to Villa Park. For me Grealish was treated harshly re the pen incident. 6 in a row is brill, now to paste the scum next weekend! UTV

Perhaps if we played another player up top , Hogan wouldn’t be so isolated .

BTW, we scored a couple of cracking goals today (especially the opener), but the 2 conceded were bloody awful. Since when have our back four been told to make like statues? Somebody needs to kick a few posteriors before them 'nose scumbags crawl into VP.

Pretty poor performance but there were some encouraging spells.

Grealish was excellent, great goal. Too many players looked jaded I thought.

Still, we took three points, and that is exactly the sort of result you need to pick up routinely to get out this division. We need to raise our game considerably for small heath though. It'll be their cup final and they're showing a bit of form at the moment.

I thought some of their players looked hugely overweight. Numbers 5 and 6 looked like the fat sweaty coppers off the fast show.

The keeper was a bit of a 'unit' as well.

Yes! I forgot about him, he looked more like a lorry driver than a footballer.

We have enough trouble controlling midfield with three in there. Which two do you think would be up to it?

I agree, he chased everything down.

Play poorly and win or play well and lose? I know which one I prefer. A couple of changes for next week and better focus please.  Lovely goals today. Shame all the results didn’t go our way but I guess we should only worry about ourselves.
