To be fair the injury list would have been a challenge for any manager, but two things have remained consistent regardless of who he's had available - the "quality" of the "football" has been absolutely shite, and his refusal to acknowledge that a piss poor run of 5 or 6 games (and not the first one) is not good enough considering the investment in the squad and that the fans have a right to expect better.  And that's two very good reasons why I would not be unhappy to see the back of him.

I'm sure he gets "correspondence" and knows what the general mood is. I remember MON suffered the same when at Leicester and made a point of phoning up the people once he'd turned it around. If you're gonna hold grudges and rub peoples faces in it, at least do it from a position of strength AFTER you've won the argument.....

Percentage wise in terms of satisfaction with Bruce i'd say it is. Certainly i don't know any non H&V members who are calling for Bruce to get a new contract and a payrise

Maybe so, but those that aren't motivated enough to come on boards like this, i'd say ranged between disappointment and resignation/hope from those i know. I wouldn't say any of them think he's doing a great job.. And lets face it they're not usually the ones who start chanting for the manager to go at games.

But once again you refer to the extreme "doing a great job". Of course I don't think that, no one does. I just don't think he's doing such a bad job that he deserves the sack, and whist I understand that the majority on here think otherwise, I'm not convinced the majority of villa fans think the same.

Well you can only go with who you speak to regularly off here. Maybe, the correct term is they wouldn't be upset if he went? It's Like Brexit i guess. I was convinced it would be landslide for the remainers until i made the effort to talk to people at work and realised most were for leaving. The quiet ones are usually the majority.

I do not underestimate the influence of fanzines, this one in particular. I do not include myself of course but there are a lot of very bright people on these pages.  Their views spread exponentially across the fan base and into the wider world of football.  We operate as a network in these days of the social media.   

Through my racing contacts for example I might hear that a certain player has a gambling problem.  I could not and would not repeat potential libel but it would enable me to understand better why that player's form was so bad.  That is hypothetical.  A real example would be the way a number of H and Vers privately pieced together what happened in the run up to and the aftermath of the infamous Secret Santa video.
