This might be the game to look at something a bit different.  Maybe resting Whelan or Hourihane, dropping Onomah back into a deeper role and starting Grealish could be an option for this one just to give us a bit more of a spark.  z\

WDWLWWWD - If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.
Not Bruce's biggest fan football wise, but after a year of dross, at least he's getting results with a reasonably settled side, even if the football is uninspiring at times...

I'm in Cautious Optimism mode (as ever), so I'm obviously hoping for a win. Given 'wall's raison d'être of being a club who thrive on being eternal battling underdogs (!), I can see them thriving at a fixture that few give them any realistic hope of gaining any points. Consequently, I hope our lot don't just think they have to turn up to get another vital win.

I'll go for a cheeky 2-1 to the Villa; with plenty saaaarrfff Laaaandon 'erbets givin' it the big 'un on their big awayday. No one like's 'em: and they don't care, you see...  ::)

I reckon until Grealish and Lansbury came on, it looked as if it was gonna be broke, so I would start with those 2 for Onomah and Hourihane.

That used to work for MON until March.
I do think he is going to need to work out how to use the squad.

2-0 Wouldn't mind seeing Onomah rested for this one after his last performance. Maybe he needs a rest before the hectic Christmas period.

3pts is what is required. The best team starts. If we’re 2 up and looking comfortable by 70 mins then we can consideri resting a few of the starters.

Has to be a win really. Be nice to win playing well for a change, but i'll settle for the win since there's not much chance of the latter. 2-0

Just realised Cardiff have got the Monday night slot, away to Reading.

Would be an awful time to drop points, get the gap down to 4 points and see what Cardiff do. Reading have picked up recently so would like to think they could hold Cardiff to a draw.

We will give them a good doings.

Our support will be frozen into a block of solid ice and will have to move and make noise just to stay breathing. The players won't want to be hanging around fanny dangling either

A brutal 4-1 victory in horizontal sleet.

True, but I don't think it is a case of fixing anything, just a few tweaks here and there.

Shiver!

Would it be wrong of me to hope that the game gets called off?

I'm thinking the same.  We don't freeze and our tired players get a welcome rest.

Another home game where we are expecting to win.  I'm not sure I can get used to this level of optimism.
