I once got into a bizarre exchange with a Forest fan on Twitter after the 2-2 draw at Villa Park last season, after I commented on Lansbury's "silly hair." I got told that I am superficial, that he is a real person and that I am not looking at the important things in life: notably his football skills.

He did have ridiculous hair though, I'm glad he's had something more sensible done to it and like others on this thread, him scoring goals is yet another positive step taken to make me like him a bit more.

Can't believe people writing off Davis! Ffs he's only 19! He shouldn't be playing at the moment, but Bruce simply can't rest him - there's no one else! I think he'll be great in 2 years time.
Precisely.
He’s a rookie being asked to lead the line, pretty much on his own.

Sure, the goals aren’t coming, but bloody hell, let’s support a kid trying to do a mans job and making a fecking good show of it.

Great night out despite the inept first half. There was only going to be one winner after we equalised.
Grealish and - I can't believe I'm saying this - Angela made all the difference.
Onomah is, frankly, not very good; a liability even (if we're going to risk a youngster in MF, why not a Villa youngster?!).
Snodgrass didn't have his best game, but Whelan was solid again and Adomah and Davis tried hard.
Taylor and Hutton both had good games.

Leeds were at their cheating dirty best: how can their 2 beefy CB be so prone to falling over whenever David got near them?

Leeds were flying in the first half and appeared to knock us off our stride and deserved to be in front but I think it was telling that that for all of their hard work they had only had one shot on target. Second half we competed better and pushed them back and the substitutions worked. A draw was a good result and a fair one.

Overall it reinforces the fact that we are a resilient team, that even when missing important players we have people to step in and do a job. Which is an encouraging reflection on the club as a whole in how it is building for now and the future.

A decent away point following a decent last half hour. It consolidates our play off position but sadly still leaves us playing catch up re the auto spots. Home draws against hull, Brentford and Boro is what's holding us back from the top 2 not away draws at the likes of Leeds or Bristol. For me it's time for Bruce to start with Grealish behind Davis. He intimated pre-season that Grealish was going to be instrumental in his team this season. Now he's back from injury and fit, Bruce needs to be brave and start playing him in what could be his best position. I see the stuck record that is qv has had another pop at the Villa home support on this thread, it's sooooo bo_tiresome.

He is wehen he gives the ball away in our half so often. Believe me, I've been very supportive of him throughout the season but he really is not very good at the moment.

Yet he was great against Ipswich?

Yes, my son and I had that conversation at half-time. We actually had a few first half shots (although they all semed more like passbacks) and on another day might well have scored before we did. Leeds were very 'up' for this game, as were their fans. By the end, though, they almost seemed to be hanging on somewhat.

Was he? - still gave the ball away too much. I don't think I can recall a game that I've been at when he had a solidly consistent game.

What I thought was great to see was Hourihane clapping the Lansbury goal. The guy has just watched his replacement play well and score, indicating a great team ethic.

A good point I thought. They were at us from the off and we looked off the pace a little so we tried to catch them on the break a few times which didn't work but for all their pressing, I don't think Johnstone made a save although Samba probably should have done better for the goal.

Second half it was much more like it, we got the deserved goal and could have won it. One thing I like about this season is we have a team who can bounce back whether we lose a game or go a goal behind. It's just a shame Cardiff won.
