That's the first game at home for some time where I thought the opposition wouldn't score once we took the lead. A very comfortable afternoon's viewing Albert easily MOM, Hutton a close 2nd.  Most pleasing of all was Wheelan, I thought he had a great game.  Their disallowed goal looked perfectly legit from my view.  What was it disallowed  for?

I think it was for a foul on Johnstone.
What's happened to the "Oh It Must Be..." banner across the North stand?

I hadn't noticed but if that banner is gone I for one will be glad to see the back of it. It always seems so small time to me. Almost like an acceptance that it's the one and only time we will be top of the pile.

Of late a number of players are stepping up to the plate every week notably Adomah and Hutton. Others are starting to do it more often now. If we can keep it up then we are in with a great shout of finishing top six. Watching Ipswich yesterday I don't think they have to worry about finishing top 6 as they rarely threatened.

Hutton has performed well on the whole for a considerable amount of time now.  His turnaround in form has been pretty amazing.

Re Alan Brazil, my son Holte Lower RR113 is also watching the Ashes.  If Fatty Brazil bumps into him he will get the same treatment.

We always looked as though we knew we were going to win. Just a very solid all round team performance. Long may it continue.

This was my view as well. Both players and fans knew it was just a matter of time. We will score and that will be it.

So did I and was amazed it was only 6 corners; almost amazing as not a single shot on target. When was the last time that happened?

Game was over at two nil and you could tell both Ipswich team and supporters knew it - they were incredibly quiet second half. They were more lively on New Street platforms after the game than they were during it.

Almost al of their corners were given away by Neil Taylor  when he should have done better.

Seeing Villa win twice in 5 days is a great feeling. I thought we were comfortable and much the better team - am I starting to feel a bit of momentum? In terms of form we must be second or thereabouts after Wolves?

Ha ha one of my friends told me as we kicked off that Ipswich scored most of their goals from corners so I got nervous every time they got one.
