What you want is a bit of Max Bygraves or Matt Munroe

Bygraves was Millwall, innit

Wasn't there a great post on here just before the 2010 League Cup final form a fella who had been Max Bygraves' PA / stuntman? He recounted working for him at the time of the 1971 or 1975 League Cup final and he told the great man he would love to go but that the work schedule wouldn't allow it, upon which Bygraves offered him the use of his Rolls Royce to get to and from Wembley and be back in time for the show.

Or did i dream this?

My father was an acquaintance of George Edwards, Harry Parkes and Stan Lynn - I can confirm Harry was friends with Max Bygraves and he had a soft spot for the Villa

Cheers Chico. Reading that again makes me wonder who Desi actually is since he says he was on stage with Max Bygraves.

A bit of a search and it appears he was probably Des Farmer:

1975: SWINGALONGAMAX (Victoria Palace)
Max Bygraves, Bobby Crush, Denise Keene & Happy, Rogers & Starr, Judy Allen, Peter Durkin, Lee Gibson, Adele Neatrour, David Brenchley, Des Farmer, Carol & Ann, John Melainey, Roger Sutton; devised and directed by Lionel Blair [16pp, 5.5x8.8; biography of Max Bygraves, full details and credits for each items, 10 photographs of the cast etc.; VG] £4

There's also a program on Ebay where his name appears once for one of the songs.

I looked him up on Wiki. There is no mention of MC Hammer supporting any English 'soccer' team. ;)

Surely he'd support West Ham? Or the Baggies?

If there's one thing I don't like about it (and I think someone has already mentioned this) is that it comes on straight after the final whistle and it doesn't really give the fans a chance to cheer at the end.

The players love it I reckon. Going up to clap the Holte and hearing them at full volume belting it out.

You'd have thought by now someone would've come up with some apt lyrics/words for it
