Our win in the recent local derby game was so crying out for a loud rendition of SOTC, but no, we got Oasis. Again.

If Villa are going to continue with post-match music then it should be a local group. Duran Duran's "Pressure Off" would possibly be my choice, but I'm sure others will have their own ideas.

This is a bit of a contradiction. Do you want post match music or not?

I don't see it as a contradiction myself. I stated *if*, rather than *they should*. On that occasion, I felt there should have been no music.

The whole notion of a Manchester group (or it could have been a Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, London, etc group) being played at the end of the Brum derby is just odd, in my opinion. Man City-supporting Oasis being played every time we win just seems odd to me.

Hopefully will be singing DLBIA again this Saturday! And not listening to the whistley thing like we did after Preston.

I enjoyed the DLBIA singalong after Blues but even at the time I thought I would have rather just sang 'We're going up, They're going down' a lot. My objection on that occasion was more in the 'manufactured atmosphere' camp than the 'why are we still singing Oasis songs?' camp.

I didn't MIND them playing it as such, and it was fun to all belt it out, but I think they could have left us to have our own fun for a bit before maybe letting that play as we began to drift away.

Keep on Running - The Spencer Davis Group

You can clap along, maybe even learn the words, they’re a local group.

Maybe he turned to supporting Villa. We might be his 'Modern Love'.

Get into em , fuck em up!

They should just sample that and play it on a loop every time we play Albion or blues. Really loud.

Probably would work better pre-match, but you get the picture

No relevance to our club but a great song to sing to (when pissed) and a local band
Or after yesterday's result

Doesn't bother me in the slightest where a band is from, heard the Ramones belting out at a couple of grounds and I'm fairly certain they don't have any association with the clubs in question.

I did mean Higher Love. As a big Bowie fan I am ashamed to have made that mistake.

Yeah sorry.  I find it an enormously annoying song.  But hey I'm just one voice and if the crowd got behind it then it would be ok with me.

I really don't see the clamour for it to be a local band for me that isn't a big deal, although I do get people being uncomfortable with Oasis' Man City connection.

I echo your thoughts about Oasis/Man City but must admit I forgot all  about my objections when 40,000 of us sang our hearts out against Small Heath! Most clubs have an anthem which has nothing to do with their club, town or city. I wrote on here recently about a blue nose at work who tried to take the piss out of us for singing DLBIA. He reckons we have nothing original like their durge (kro) I pointed out to the fucking muppet that song is a Scottish folk song that has nothing at all to do with them or the city. I'd love someone to pick out a more neutral song for us to get behind but I think it's going to be DLBIA for the time being.
