Thread is being used by music snobs to bash the best British band over the last 45 years I feel.

 ;D

They aren't even close to being the best band from Manchester in that time.

World's gone mad. Jack Grealish is being talked about as world class after half a dozen good games in the Championship and Oasis are somehow the best British band of the last 43 years!

Well, he could well be, and they are.

It wouldn't be so bloody awful if someone would even have the sense to come up with some relevant words to go with the dreary tune.

Something relevant, you say? How about

"Oh Gabby's big plate
Is piled up with cake, burgers, chips and a pie.
They gave him a weigh,
He's like a sumo wrestler, I heard them say."

I like that!
Can I just point out we have been trying to give him ‘away’ for years.

It's a sign there aren't too many problems at the club at present when this is the sort of stuff we are reduced to cribbing about.

Well, he could well be, and they are.

Grealish could develop into a world class player, and even though I like him a lot I very much doubt he is gonna reach world class level. You're talking Iniesta, Zidane, Xavi level imo.

Oasis were a Stone Roses knock off, made catchy anthemic rock that was of it's time, there have been loads of better bands than Oasis over the past 45 years.

It's a sign there aren't too many problems at the club at present when this is the sort of stuff we are reduced to cribbing about.

Ellis has gone, Lerner has gone, Mcleish has gone. We now need a chant and some of those sad 'banners' that are actually A4 sheets of paper that say 'The bloke who does the full time music out'!.

Personally I like  'Hi Ho Silver Lining' by Jeff Beck, but would happily replace it when we play Small Heath or Smethwick  with Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid'.

I like Hi Ho Silver Lining too. Only in the context of Villa, mind. More of a Pulp man in everyday life.

The fact that fans stay behind and sing it is good enough for me. I like it anyway, and absolutely hate Hi-Ho Silver Lining with a vengeance.

I've said on here plenty of times that I don't like hearing DLBIA because Oasis not just closely associated to Manchester but are well known to be big Man City fans .........BUT I really enjoyed singing it at the top of my voice on Sunday so who knows?

Indeed. Best thing of all we can switch Gabby for Bruce any time we want.

Do you think that Palace fans worry about who the Dave Clark 5 supported?

I don't think Billie Holiday was much of a Man City fan myself, doesn't stop Blue Moon being anthem for them.

I think the song is decent anyway and it sounds good when we belt it out. I've never heard an Oasis track and thought that's Man City that.

Also what has Tom Jones got to do with Stoke.  Doesn't stop them singing Delilah,  Plus we have a decent and meaningful reason for why we sing DLBIA.
