Thread is being used by music snobs to bash the best British band over the last 45 years I feel.

I find the DLBIA thing a bit cringey as they are a band associated with another club.

However, one thing that never, ever works is trying to impose something artificially.

So for that reason, I strictly ration the number of fucks I am really prepared to give on the subject.
This is the key point.  It's just daft when people say lets have this <insert shite heavy metal song> by this <insert shite midlands heavy metal band> and think it will take off on the terraces.  It won't.  Neither will the Spencer Davis Group (which is one of the most awful suggestions I've heard).

DLBIA is the closest we've had to an anthem in quite a few years.  It's no 'Bells are Ringing' but you can't just force these things on the fans.

Artificial imposition won't work. It'll be like that thing under McLeish where it was a nailed-on certainty that everyone would belt out The Bells Are Ringing, and what we heard was a dread silence and funeral bells as the players walked out.

Not British and not a band.  Which are the only two reasons I discounted him.

If you were at Reading away last season you will understand why DLBIA is sang and played.

They aren't even close to being the best band from Manchester in that time.

Although I didn't mind Oasis back in the day but I was never a fan of this song.  Regards us, I think it served its purpose last year as the club needed to come together after the shit show of the Lerner years.  But that time has gone now so I'd rather we all moved on.

That said I dont have an alternative, these things a best left to happen organically.

I think it's appropriate whilst we are in the 'getting back on track' stage and I thought it was quite appropriate on Sunday since it was the clearest sign yet that we are getting back on track. Maybe something new if we get promoted.
It does help that I like Oasis mind, especially the first 2 albums.

World's gone mad. Jack Grealish is being talked about as world class after half a dozen good games in the Championship and Oasis are somehow the best British band of the last 43 years!

Think how often that song is played each year on the radio, music channels etc and then think how every time a nose that was at the game hears it they'll always be reminded of trudging away from VP after yet another defeat.

Funny you say that because every time my crowd hear it after a game it gets them all moaning like fuck.  They don't stop either until they get to the Bartons.

It wouldn't be so bloody awful if someone would even have the sense to come up with some relevant words to go with the dreary tune.

I guess you either love it or find it excruciatingly bad. No middle ground
