Down to the business end of things now. Some of the games in the 'round robin' series were tighter than I expected with some surprise results along the way. However, safe to say the 3 Connacht teams made a right hames of today's games. Hoping Galway draw Mayo tomorrow ;) with Donegal probably the preferred option for us, then Derry or Armagh in the quarters if we can get through that.

Shame Roscommon lost I wanted them to win. But tomorrow the Laois lads are at Croke Park, the county will empty 😆, come on you lads in blue and white (I know, I know!!)

Separate note, my friends niece who plays GAA football for Mitchell’s in Birmingham has been selected to play for Warwickshire U-15, well done Orla

And now Mayo are the only Connacht team left. Hopefully we will avoid the Dubs in the draw.

Could this be Monaghan’s year? Only Dublin and Kerry or Derry to overcome  :-\

Was hoping they'd do it (have good friends from Scotstown) but knew Dublin would ultimately have too much. Put up a good show though, especially when you consider the gulf in resources.

Roscommon's season petered out with a couple of narrow defeats and it would have been nice to make the quarters. Still a pretty positive season, a good young manager, D1 football secured and a few decent players to come in next year. The less said about Laois' last game the better though. :-[

Kerry v Derry was a great game. Noticed how far upfield goalkeepers have been during this all Ireland, Kerry keeper especially yesterday. Felt sorry for Derry but I was with a fair few Kerry fans yesterday, at DJ Quinns in Birmingham. Great day all round

Scoring 3 points in second half normal time doesn't tend to win you All-Ireland semi-finals. Didn't mind Kerry winning yesterday, they stepped up to the plate when it mattered and stand a better chance of beating the Dubs. :)

It's an enthralling hurling final so far.
