Don't get me started on Sporting, no matter how bad Villa are, Sporting will always try to go a step worse. Yesterday was an embarrassment.

Chico, your mate never mentioned the fans attacking the players?

Yeah, actually it was the attack on players he was telling me about, I'm getting mixed up. He was telling me this morning that over 20 fans were jailed/remanded for 6 months for attacking the players. He's really depressed. Funny, he lives in Kilburn now so he's coming along to the pub before our game on Saturday to see what a real atmosphere is like.

Nice. I'd imagine they'll be a different kind of vibe to the pre-match BBQs and picnics under the pine trees at Jamor last Sunday.

Drugs on the green. Puking in bins on the train. Trying to fight a copper because you are pissing in a road side floral arrangement. What's not to like?

Didn't Paul Weller write that song?

Do you bet on every match?

I had a flashback and remembered you posting this as I placed my bet today on a treble on this evenings Swedish Allsvenskan games. Including one team I had never actually heard of but included them in my bet anyway as they were the favourites. With three weeks to go to the World Cup they may not be the last team I have never heard of that I bet on between now and then.

Norrkoping and Ostersunds won but the team I can't recall hearing of before, BK Hacken could only manage a draw against AIK Stockholm despite being the favourites to win.

Gotta feel a bit for the Liverpool fans who have been stiffed by flights to Kiev being cancelled. Much as I want them to lose, that's a crap situation to find yourself in a day before the game.

I'd be absolutely gutted, not to mention furious.  Imagine having to tell your young son/daughter that despite having tickets you can't go because someone's pulled the plug.  I would imagine it's nigh on impossible to make alternative arrangements.  I feel sorry for them.

Heard on the radio earlier that some were driving to Kiev - me personally, I'd be looking at every flight arriving tomorrow morning within 300miles and driving the rest.
These unfortunately are the decent "real" fans of Liverpool - not the plastic scousers that crop up everywhere.

Some of the folks in my office went on a coach at 6am yesterday morning. 30 hours plus. Fuck that.

I'd fly to Polish border, Travelodgski and then 7 hours into Kiev.

Missed this, why have flights been cancelled?
