Thing is bree hasn't shown anything in the admittedly short exposure that he's had that he's any better than hutton. Hutton does try and get forward but just can't do it well enough.

I don't think Bree needs to have shown he can do better than Hutton. The question is can he be possibly worse than Hutton ?

I doubt it.

Bree put in a lovely cross the other night for Flabby to score. That itself is more than i've seen Hutton do with the ball in the final third forever.

Agree with this, Huttons runs are all well and good and get an A for effort but are never productive, Bree had already shown albeit a friendly  cross that cries goal.

Also doesn't leave us exposed on that side too.

This is why I get so frustrated when people call Hutton one of our best players, as if running forward a lot and throwing in the odd leg breaker are all it needs to be a fans favourite.  He can't cross, can't shoot, loses the ball far more often than he should and regularly bursts forward without reading the game and gets himself caught in no mans land.

I have no issues with his fitness or his attitude, which both seem absolutely on point, it's just that pretty much everything else about his game is below average.  Bree will be a far better player than him in a year and we might as well commit to giving the youngster experience and ride out a few mistakes because Hutton doesn't give us an y great assurance either.

Does anyone know if we've sold out for Walsall tonight? Or can you pay on the night?

The ticket website has been no help whatsoever!

I hope the club start promoting the SGT game heavily. Seems we're only planning on opening the lower tier of the Holte, North and Witton, and loads of tickets still available.

I didn't realise that. No wonder the online site wouldn't let me purchase my own seat, I thought it was a fault of some sort. Oh well, it will make a change sitting somewhere different I suppose.

I still remember the damp squib that was McGrath's testimonial. Always disappointing if we can't get our act together to celebrate our heroes

He'd only been here five years and he was hardly skint.

Not sure how the five years thing is particularly relevant given SGT's total time as manager at Villa was less than that.

I have seen somewhere this afternoon that we have sold out our allocation.
It may have been on the clubs Facebook page

Sir Graham's game isn't a testimonial. Giving one to a player after five years is unheard of. That's how it's relevant.

McGrath was no ordinary player so I don't think there's much of a precedent out there.

I was at that game i think, why was McGrath awarded a testimonial after 5 years?
