How did Mitchell Clark play? I only had it on in the background. Was he at centre back? That run for the second penalty was like nothing I've seen a Villa player do for a very long time!

The Hourihane one is the sort of messy shit that we've conceded far too often in the last few years.

That run for the second penalty was like nothing I've seen a Villa player do for a very long time!He did well, swept up behind Samba well so the latter could come out and win anything they hit long. He is a bit short but his distribution was good and his position was good so he might be able to convert to a defensive midfielder. In general the defence in the Telford game looked very comfortable, not like the other game where I saw Hutton and Richards both get skinned a couple of times.
I didn't recognise half our players. Makes you realise how much we depend on the names on the backs of shirts. Who was the young lad that ran most of the pitch before he was felled for the second peno? And McKirdy looks about 13...Hogan didn't congratulate him on the goal, probably pissed that he didn't get on the scoresheet himself. Interesting interview with him on Pravda about his targets for this season, he comes across very self-confident.

It's a shame he isn't a few inches taller, as I think that will be his undoing as a centre back. That run though was mightily impressive, no matter what position he was playing in. He looks a real asset; I hope we can find a position for him to thrive in.
For those who were wondering, the second game over in Germany on the Tuesday has been switched to a place called Erkenschwick.
