I was at a meeting today at VP and the rumour is rife Watford are having their pitch re laid and it will not be ready in time

If your worried about it - no need you can stay anywhere in Dusseldolf, Duisburg, Cologne.  The train  tickets  to the Duisburg area will be quite reasonable  - all about 12 euros at the most.  The game is in the Duisburg area so should not be a problem.
