I listened to the game on the radio and Gary Thompson summed it up, the players do not know how to play together, if this was just the one occasion then maybe you give them a pass, but sorry this has been the standard and level for most of Bruces tenure, even when we were winning , we never looked liked a cohesive unit that was going to destroy n opponent.

There was nothing on the game but a defeat could mean another nail in the Small Heath coffin, and I don't give a toss if some fans would rather we lost. So what? All this "I'm ashamed with the fans" is so over the top it's laughable. It's a bit of fun, nothing more nothing less.

I'm sorry, but (1) "fans" who rather we lost have no right as being described as fans; and (2) as for it being "a bit of fun", when I fork out my £27 for a ticket, the bit of fun I want is a half decent performance from my team and hopefully a win - "nothing more nothing less".

There seems to be a gap developing between the players and Bruce. He doesn't single out players but he does blame the team for awful performances..The team do need to carry the can for poor performances but Bruce needs to admit his part in our failings. Once a manager alienates his players there is only going to be one winner. That's how football is these days.

The stark truth highlighted by every game since Burton is that we are no better than the team that was relegated.  If Lambert, Sherwood or Garde had been left in charge and the squad unchanged we would have sunk to 20 points off the play offs in the Championship.

We, the supporters, have endured the engagement and sacking of four managers and the squandering of colossal sums of money to achieve absolutely nothing.

Next season will be no different.  Bruce will be given more time and he will persist in the playing of Agbonlahor, Gardner, Bacuna, Richards, Elphick, Baker, plus a few equally technically inept old players like Samba while our young players get the odd quarter of an hour off the bench if they are lucky.

The institutionalised incompetence of Bodymoor Heath, earlier referred to, will probably deliver a half cooked, half coached, half arsed team that includes the usual suspects next August and next season will be no better than the last one.

Our possession and ability to keep the ball is embarrassing, even against the worst teams in this poxy league we're unable to control or dominate a game. 4 away wins in this league is pathetic. The standard in this league is dreadful yet you can count our good performances this season on one hand and still have fingers spare.

I think you flatter them QV.  Perhaps I missed it but I cannot recall a single game other than the surrender of Rotherham at VP and the last half hour against Brighton in which we dominated the game.  Not one.

I reached the stage years ago where I couldn't give a toss about our neighbours due to the awful decline of our own club.
Someone is going to have to be brave enough to let Bruce go after the Brighton game or we are destined for another struggle next season.

That's my stance. I don't get to many games these days, so an away game is a bit of a treat. I want Villa to win, end of.
My closest friends are noses, and one or two do have a bit of an obsession disorder, but, they're decent guys, so it doesn't bother me if they stay up.

To be fair I can understand the 'Bit of fun' by cheering Blackburn, but, for me it was when blues scored it was as if a child had had their favourite toy taken away. It suddenly wasn't fun anymore. They just sat there sulking and checking their phones.

The third paragraph, can't highlight from my kindle, highlights absolutely why Bruce is a dinosaur. These are the players who greatly assisted with our demise. Other than Gardner maybe, they are the don't give a fuck, yesterday's players who will never be able to take the club forward. If Bruce doesn't see this, then he deserves to go because this list would be my bomb squad, out at all costs. I appreciate it hasn't happened yet, but if it does, I genuinely hope the likes of Keith and Tony understand why we moan about them.

This is my take on it as well Brian. 20 points from play offs in a mediocre second division is no better than we did in the first division last season.

I'm not so sure. We were in danger of dropping into the third division. At least this time around we found the resilience to drag ourselves to safety.

As soon as the prospect of the playoffs died, then so did our desire to win games, except against Small Heath. I'm more pissed off about that than yesterday's performance, which was merely more of the same lack of discipline and application against a team that really needed the points. The Villa disease still needs stamping out.

maybe fans are only having a bit of fun because the team is so dull to watch .

If we were actually good and great to watch no one would be bothered by that poo down the road and just enjoy our teams great football.

just dont think sB is going to sort this crap out.

He has the players but has no idea how to play them.

I watched it via a stream online yesterday and we looked truly awful. I'm not sure what was worse, the performance or the fact that we let Danny Graham score past us.

Good post

Burton was awful but take your pick from Cardiff, wolves, Reading, Fulham, Barnsley, Ipswich, Norwich. And is anybody truly inspired by Clemence and Calderwood as coaches
