Bruce should go now, even if we did scrape back to the premiership he is not good enough to keep us there. Tone needs to be looking now and give the next manager as much time as possible.

Moyes won't come to Villa. The trend at this level now is for foreign coaches and I don't expect we'll buck that trend.
And I really don't want him.

Dr Tony should dock the players a week's wage for that performance and the coaching staff should also suffer.

The small time attitude was a combination of the team only giving 50% effort and party time on the terraces.  The players were given an excuse not to perform and they took it.   I would actually prefer playing the shit rather than the likes of Forest or Blackburn - we are more likely to get something from the derby.

As for change of  manager.  Wait and see but right now I would send a private plane for Moyes if it meant no Bruce.  I hope and I am proved to be wrong and spud can change this around  at the start of next season.

When was the last time we attracted a top class manager?  If we couldn't in the PL why would we now?

Bruce being somewhat of a promotion specialist is is as good as we'll get for the situation we're in.

The football really isn't any better than the type played by Pulis and Allardyce, only they're better at it.

First time I've been at a Villa game where I was ashamed of the team and the fans.
Embarrassing to have sunk as low and small time as our neighbours.

On balance I'm still happy enough to start next season with SB. Can you imagine this football and tactics in the prem though? We'd struggle to get 17 points.

However he can remember how he got 4 promotions during the summer and do it next season but we can't really start our next prem campaign with him in charge, it would be a waste of time.

That's the point no manager getting promotion would be sacked and with what we've seen this season it's a given we would be relegated again with his brand of football.

I felt the same today.

Around me were lots of fans cheering the Blackburn goal and then to cap it all, once they knew Blues would win, they were the most vociferous ones in slating the players.

The players deserved the criticism from start to finish, but the hypocrisy and small-mindedness of some of the fans was mind-boggling.

Ending up with a midfield of Gardner, Bacuna and Grealish with Gabby as well, said it all in terms of the lack of quality.

Lansbury, Hourihane and Hogan in particular, continue to be underwhelming and our earlier good run was based solely around Kodjia and resolute defending.

I think it will be a fecking long time before we need to worry about our next prem campaign.

You must have been by me. Really pi**ed me off.
There were 4 guys in front of me and they all constantly kept checking the blues score on their phones. They weren't bothered with our game. We obviously have our own obsessive lot!!

Oh for fuck sake, I'd say any other club's fans in the land would have done the same as Villa supporters did today. A meaningless end of season game where if we lost could go a long way to relegating our hated neighbours. Big deal. All this "I'm ashamed of us" nonsense is just that, nonsense. So over the top.

Considering we always bang on about them being obsessed with us, we've done a pretty good this week of behaving the same way.

I was surprised how pissed off I was with the result but I still would have been cheered up considerably if Blues had have screwed up. There's no such thing as a healthy rivalry, you should want every opponent to be humiliated. They wouldn't give us the steam off their piss, so why should we take the moral high ground?

Since when has it ever been any different? They don't like us and we don't like them and I'd bet my last penny fans from any club up and down the land would like to see their team lose a meaningless end of season match to see their local rivals relegated (wether they admit it or not). Let's not pretend we're any different.
