I've said before that I really wanted SB to work out but, like many others, I can see that he's not the one for our Club. Too old fashioned, no clue as to how to pick or setup a ream. If he's still in charge next season, we won't finish higher than mid table. Club need to set their sights on a good modern football Manager now and, get him in during the close season. Will then have time to get to know who he wants to keep etc. If we leave it until October/November it will be too late.

Honestly, I think there is a bigger problem skulking somewhere around Bodymoor Heath.

During the last year of mismanagement, alot of coaches and training staff been "grandfathered" in and while the people responsible for putting them there might be long gone now there have to be some of their entourage hanging around and still lifting paychecks yet never have a clue on how to do the job. Bet there is lots of staff  between the AM to the Tea Lady thats total fuckups but never gets reviewed of their job performance..

Bruce hinted something about that around Christmastime when he was appalled that Aston Villas first team wasn't fit to last 45 min. If the starters in one of England and Europe's biggest clubs cant last 45 min with half the season gone then someone on the training staff isn't doing their job.

Add in that players who was loaned out for the season regains brilliant form and fitness. CS and JV for example.

Meanwhile we buy good and proven players who immediately starts under-performing. There is a pattern here...but its unclear what causing this. Doubt its Steve Bruce. For all his strange tactics and odd subs, we have one of the best Squads at this level and horrible play, passing and possession. Not even Westwood is around for me to blame for that...

When Dr Tony bought this club it was evident that he wanted to build a new strong fanbase for a new Villa glory era but after watching this game like so many others this season I ask you this?  How can the young generations starting to follow the game, grow to love Villa and decide to support them for life like most of us did so many years ago? What is there to rejoice about? Its not this loss, it hardly matters in the big picture, but it hasn't been much better in the games that did matter.

As an already committed fan you can be happy for every win, no matter how bad. But how can anything we seen this year win us the support of the coming generations? And with an owner in the far East...does he think what we see here today will help him sell Villa merchandise in China?

I think Frank Lampard could do a better job than Bruce. In fact I think Frankie goes to Hollywood could do a better job than Bruce.

I meant to post something about this a few weeks ago. My family are Villa through and through, however I was recently informed that my 2 nephews are too embarrassed to wear Villa colours at school and now turn up for football training wearing Bayern Munich kits. I joke about blaming the parents but it's not as if they haven't had Villa drilled into their brains since they were born, so if this is happening to my nephews then I can only presume that it's happening in many other Villa supporting families.

Ordinarily I would have been disappointed about the result but after that showing I am fucking angry - That was every bit as bad as the performance at Preston earlier in the season. We are still going backwards and I fear the slide will continue next year - I appreciate that the fans wanted a laugh at Small Heaths` expense but like a few posters have noted already, some of the stuff today was small time - how ironic that our fans slate the SHA fans as being pathetic, thick, moronic and obsessed with the Villa - please lets not stoop any lower guys.... potentially they may see a turn around under Rednapp next season and just look how he will rub our noses in it - he has started already.

OK today was a nothing game in respect of our season but at least the players and coaches/manage could have put in a passionate display for those turning up in big numbers - I am currently out of work and today was an expense I could have spared but after the lift last week I thought me and VCTM jnr could have a great Dad and Lad day out - as per the last few years the day out was marred only by the game itself.

There are far too many at the club just taking the money ... I appreciate that Hogan is new to the club but he has shown me nothing to suggest he will turn the corner and start hitting the back of the net.  Again today, pre game, I watched him lumber about half heartedly warming up  - he looks totally disinterested  - as for his shots on goal 1:1 with the keeper - fucking abysmal. If he is the future for 2017/2018 we have no future.

Finally if the owner has any sense he will look to bring in a replacement for Bruce asap, however, I fear if that is the case his "football experts" will have a ready replacement lined up - step forward Mr Moyes - his mate is already at the club

I am not a betting man but if I was I would lump on that as the next managerial appointment.

Its tough being a Villa fan - Having followed the club since the early 1960`s this current side is certainly up there as one of the poorest - and I have seen some shit

Not sure about that. THe last thing we need is for our players to relax any more than they already do.

First things first: the fans were great - I really thought the party atmosphere and willingness to just enjoy the occasion was great ...
... then we kicked off the game.
Gardner, Bacuna and Ange were absolute garbage throughout.
Baker's inept passing created the only goal of the game.
Hogan is not going to work out well in this set-up.

During the game, I had a real problem with the fans' focus on the Bluenoses - small-time, in my opinion. Cheering on Blackburn and celebrating the goal really grated for me: I never like when the Villa lose, and this was no exception.

SB is a very limited manager, along with the last few we've had. when you consider how Fulham, Leeds, Reading and 'udders have pushed on this season with limited resources, it puts into sharp relief the limited nature of the Villa set-up.

I can't wait for the end of the season ...

Moyes won't come to Villa. The trend at this level now is for foreign coaches and I don't expect we'll buck that trend.

Threat should be retitled "It's Been ANOTHER Horrible One". Nice to see we cheered for the home side, partially makes up for the times we've caused carnage to the gents toilets at Ewood's away end (fixture and fittings-related rather than bodily-function although I imagine that too may have been included in a two-for-one offer).

Moyles?  Good grief no, but I do believe Bruce should go and should not be allowed any say in summer comings and goings.  So the sooner he goes the better.
As a starting point, any of the managers of the clubs that don't go up from the play offs could be considered.

Not this family, my son always wears his Villa shirt to training.

I thought this game was an 'acceptable' loser? For the neighbours?
I thought we weren't bothered?
Fans in Blackburn shirts?

All I can tell you is, I don't think any game is acceptable if The Villa lose.

But I am not after SB.
I want Keith W and the rest of the team to back or sack.
I hope, back and support SB.

He has made what he can of what was there. Now, he has to build a promotion team.
Go, Steve!
