We sound determined to do a Villa here. And Elphick is the man who'll help us do it.

Under Bruce we will grind our way to promotion next season. It's going to be tough to watch even if we get the desired end result. It's also why he can't be trusted in the PL and has come up short every time he has managed any club at that level.

I'd be happy with having to sack him in the Premier League aroudn December/January. It'd mean we're in the Premier League.

I think we need to look at this like Southampton did and move to a more progressive manager once promoted. Doesn't have to be immediately, but certainly within 12 months of securing it.

But he's only managed shite clubs. Has to be given a chance.

The problem though is that if you are having to sack a manager at that time of year, you are usually heading for relegation as you are that bad.

He's managing a club who has given him tremendous resources and the football is every bit as turgid as most feared. I'm glad we are winning and I am glad we have him at this level. I don't want him for any great length of time in the PL.
