Where is Ian Bell today?

Sore elbow, hoping to be fit for the T20 on Friday though so nothing long term.

Thanks. Weakening our batting further which we could ill afford, wickets tumbling now at 141-5  :(

214/5 - Lamb 47 no, Clarke 43 no. Keep Bell out! - he's been poor with an average of only 27.5 this season...

It is a very good wicket, and most of the members reckon 400 is a par score.

I would bet the game will not be drawn so the pressure is on. Lose this and we are fucked.

I'd concentrate on getting the 350 in the next 14-15 overs first and then go from there, we need all the bonus points we can get.

Agree Paul.  Need to start recording wins.

Things weren't looking too good until the last couple of overs but 2 big wickets and what looks like a long tail for Middlesex means this is wide open now.

To update fully

Bears 334
Middlesex 199/4 Eskinazi 120* Simpson 1*

Middlesex 273/6 now, Eskinazi still there on 157 but he's edged loads and had 2-3 LB shouts against him so it's well into charmed life territory.

Some interesting scores around the country, and a couple that will surely interest the pitch inspectors.

Gloucester vs Glamorgan where 25 wickets fell on the first day will definitely be looked at.

Hopefully though, Kent vs Northamptonshire will be looked at also. 700/7 declared plays 180/1.

They never take action against boring, flat, pitches.

I could see there still being a result in that Kent game. Reckon they've prepared a spinner's wicket and Shah and Tredwell will get them to victory.
