By the way, who was sitting a few feet away from me today in the Sky Line East but one Trevor Francis.

You didn't give us much chance to guess.

He is a member and used to play cricket until banned by Blues management after sustaining an injury in close season. A genuinely good chap going through some hard personal issues, having lost his wife and father recently.

Will be resuming his TV career with BT after the hiatus.

I met TF a few times when his son was playing for Tamworth, genuinely nice bloke and always willing to chat about football.

Middlesex 79/4 Malan and Stirling gone this morning.

I'd say slightly on top now with the lead still over 150.  The tail is pretty long so Compton and Simpson is the last big partnership.

Compton gone just as they were looking threatening, stumped from a Jeets delivery.

126/5

Simpson 28*
Higgins the new man

Simpson gone for 40, massive wicket when it was looking ominous for us.

170/6
64 runs or 4 wickets required.

Are we actually going to win a game?!

Just, I think we'll get home.

Lost by one wicket.

We are never going to win, ever again.

Dear oh dear >:(

Looking at the figures, Patel seemed to be under-bowled in the 2nd innings, whereas Rankin was very expensive. Maybe Trott showing his lack of experience as a captain.

Another 10 runs in our second innings would have done it.

I think so.

The 2 teams above the relegation places have double the number of our points. 94 compared to our 47.

Yep. Looks like we're consigned to the second tier already I'm afraid. Obviously followed the 'Aston Villa: from a solid top tier side to relegation no hopers in no time' plan.
