Some good news. Mile Jedinak is back in the starting XI. Neil Taylor comes in at left-back.

I'd call it some good news and some not so good news.

There's no good news David, there's only bad news and irrelevant news.

You can do whatever you like but if I went on to another club's messageboard and started badmouthing their fans I wouldn't expect them to say "Gosh, you're right". I certainly wouldn't spend hours tying myself in knots with them.
I didn't "bad mouth" your fans, I said that the remains some resentment. If anything, that's a comment on ours. What followed was a lurch from some member to "defend" Villa fans from that initial line.

I think we have to accept that the majority of Newcastle fans aren't used to unsanitised, pre-Sky piss taking. The majority arrived  with Sky and Keegan. Pre-Sky they were getting crowds as low as 9,000. And they wonder why we all laugh at them bragging about attendances.

I think you're elevating a pretty cringeworthy banner to a level it really doesn't deserve. I know full well that this Warhammer fan isn't much evidence of the "dry wit" of the brummie, I've met funny lads from your neck of the woods, this oddity with his banners isn't one of them. "Sob on the Tyne" isn't unsanitised, Pre-Sky piss-taking, it's just a pretty humourless behaviour from a fairly lonely individual. The few hardy souls that made it up on Monday night were immeasurably wittier than that chump. I think I have to repeat; the problem wasn't with content on the bedsheets which was embarrassing but then not everyone has a Noel Coward-esque wit, it wasn't the "Going down" chants that are fair game, it was the effort Villa fans* put in to lord it over non-rivals' relegation. Never seen anyone go to that effort before or since.

Since then it's been over-reactions, misdirected frustrations, an effort by local media (on both sides) to fan flames to get clicks, the current state of social media where the considered moderate opinion is lost amongst a cacophony of extreme opinions howled into a void and so on.

As an aside, I see you're trotting out the mackem's "Keegan Bandwagon" line. The claim that glory hunters swelled our ranks in the 90s is daft (especially when the accusation comes from a fan of sunderland as their numbers increased with the advent of Sky by a greater proportion than our own). All top flight clubs benefited from the re-branding of the English game. Since those heady days of not winning anything, we've had another 20yrs of not winning anything, two relegations, shocking football, bad ownership, bad management, disconnect from the club. And despite all that, we still attract huge numbers to St James'.

There's plenty to mock Newcastle United and it's fans about, attendance isn't one of them.

*the fact that it was one sadsack has been lost to the narrative.

I always go out of my way to say that I speak for no-one except myself. However, on this occasion I'll make an exception and say that I believe I speak for all of us when I say:

Fuck off you obsessive sadcase. The reason we laughed is exactly because of wankers like you. In fact, no matter how bad we are, wer'e still laughing at you now. So fuck off, and don't come back.

And if anyone wants to talk "huge numbers" Newcastle went sixteen years without an average gate of thirty thousand. They finally managed it, quelle surprise, in their first Premier League season. Loyal as fuck, the Geordies.

I'll never be upset by something that gives me so much hilarity. Now fuck off and don't come back.

You're definitely speaking for me, Dave.

I've been to St James' Park and it's a fucking crap stadium. I've always seen Newcastle as the Spurs of the North. All fart, no shit, with thuggish, cuntish fans. Though of course, Spurs are now actually a good team, so....

Well, you certainly seem like you're furious. What with the swearing and antagonistic terms...

Well I must say, returning to comment yet again having been told to fuck off strikes me as the behaviour of an unutterably sad individual. Possibly the saddest person we've ever had on here, and that's no mean feat. He'll probably respond to this now, just to prove the point.

Jesus christ he's still babbling on and even going on about attendances now, stereo typical Geordie if ever there was one.
They have created this  'rivalry' with us to detract from the fact that they have been Sunderlands bitches for the best part of a decade.

Know what I agree with him on one point, plenty of things to slag Newcastle off about if you were bothered but their attendances isn't one of them.

Couple of points;

I responded to an Aston Villa fans mention of attendances, I didn't bring them up.
This "rivalry" was created by one Aston Villa fan with too much time on his hands, then exaggerated by local media and twitter. Our sense of superiority over Sunderland can handle relegation and even an embarrassing string of defeats, we're always going to think that way, just as you'll feel superior to West Brom and Birmingham regardless of league positions.

All this over one banner by probably one fan. Honestly, get a grip.

Fish back on here?

One question to you if you haven't been banned again....surely beating us 6-0 in your first game back in August 2010 was enough.

I'm bemused that the bitterness still lingers...last season was just amusing given how abysmal we were and you still couldn't win but I really can't believe the stuff from 2009 is still lingering on, it's been nearly 8 years now and we're in a much worse state than you now.
