They don’t look at the recent facts, it’s only their opinion based on what he’s done in the past. I guess on that same theory as much as I thought Wenger was a brilliant and superb manager which has helped and changed English football forever but he should never have been replaced at Arsenal.

Sky: Sacking Steve Bruce was 'a mistake' by Aston Villa, The Debate panel agree
Many of the people commenting on social media sites that I have read about His sacking are other fans on the wind-up. Gloating Wolves fans seem particularly present on the sites I’ve read.

“This is a transitional period for the club”. We must be the only club/business that’s been in transition for nine years.

It shows how utterly thick they are.

If you want Villa to stay in the Championship, the very last thing that you should wish for is the sacking of Bruce.  I cannot think of anything that guaranteed us remaining down than Bruce being manager.  Now that he's gone, our chances of promotion have risen drastically.  Why are they gloating about that?

The set-up of the team at the start of the second half against Preston summed up Bruce's negative mindset. Even before the penalty debacle we hadn't crossed the halfway line with any intent. He obviously told his players to sit deep and hold on at Half-time. When we were forced to attack at 2-3 Preston's defence was rubbish. A more attacking approach second-half we would of most likely won it.

There is no way Bruce told his players to sit deep when 2-0 up and cruising.

Preston brought Johnson on and just started pressing higher up the pitch, as Rotherham did. Our midfield was sinking without trace even before the red card. No out ball option either with that clown Kodjia up there, Bolasie at least battled when he came in.

A truly gutless display. Bruce deserves a share of criticism for the night but our midfield four deserve more for starters.

Caught a discussion on Talksport this morning where some talking head was going over the results from last night.  He must have been a Derby fan because Alan Brazil said to him "Derby have had a good start" and then the conversation went something like this:

Talking head - Yes they have and they got a draw with Norwich, which wasn't a bad result as Norwich were doing well and had won their last four
Brazil - They wanted their manager out not so long ago
Talking head - Just goes to show that Steve Bruce should have been given more time
Brazil (sounding a bit upset and angry) - Well it's too late now

I'm sorry, but how the f@ck does Norwich winning four games in a row before drawing with Derby mean that Steve Bruce should have been given more time?  I wonder how many times some of these idiots coming out with this rubbish have seen actually us play this season?

I have never been one to openly criticise Villa players, staff or management but I became exasperated at the tactical decisions of the past few games. This does not mean that I don’t have sympathy for Steve over the traumatic deaths of his parents nor that I condone throwing heavy items at him
I am equally exasperated at the ill-informed comments of the media. Dean Saunders said that the 1st thing that Steve does at a club is sort out the back 5! – has he watched us lately? Only Preston have conceded more. Oliver Holt talks as though we were all pelting cabbages and on and on it goes.
It a bit much to ask I know but if they don’t know what they are talking about and haven’t been home and away experiencing the growing discontent of the fans then I would like them all to shut up and leave it to those who have had repeated disappointments for a long while now.

How does Oliver Holt write when he's lodged so far inside Martin O'Neill's rectum?

It's just a matter of time before they all come out spouting we should hire an English manager rather than looking at some foreigner. English jobs for English men! Tossers.

Sacking your manager and the costs associated with recruitment are excluded under FFP. Appendix D 2.7.3.

So we can chuck as much money at a new manager for a Golden Hello as we please, as its any cost associated with the change of management.

That is the best news I've heard since yesterday.

As much as i've wanted him gone for ages i'm not going to hold it against them that they gave him 11 games to prove if he was, or wasn't, the right man for the job.

He was given rope by the new owners to hang himself. Which he did and we all kind of knew he would.

I suspect it was exactly this. Most jobs have a three strikes and you're out rule – they may well have built an HR file of his negligence, which was topped by not having defensive cover with Chester suspended. Perhaps it's cheaper to fire him with a litany of mismanagement rather than just on a results basis.
