Both were the sacked on the 3rd of October, after the 11th league game of the season, which was against Preston.

We had a penalty saved in each game, too.

While I thought it was right to retain him due to the turmoil in the summer, it is equally correct to remove him now. Getting to Wembley earned him another shot but he has fucked it up royally. I still think that performance hangs over him like a black cloud but it was his own doing.
There seem to be plenty of fans from other teams showing great interest, and indeed taking the piss. We are always in some peoples minds, if they can claim to have one.

Laughing at Darren Gough saying that Bruce could be the next Utd manager, jeez what are these people on?

That was great radio.

The Spurs game ?

Southampton LC game I think was the one.

Guzan

Hutton
Clark
Crespo
Amavi

Bacuna
Westwood
Richardson
Sanchez

Gabby
Gestede

Subs:

Bunn
Okore
Sinclair
Veretout
Ayew
Gil
Grealish

I reckon those 7 subs could have taken on the 11 who started and won!

Bless the Lord.  What took them so long?

Meetings with Bruce, Calderwood, Agnew, Clemence, Walsh, probably agents, HR, lawyers etc. It takes time!

No, I wasn't referring to today...I thought they should have gone weeks ago!

For purely football reasons I'm glad this has happened.  It's a shame it came to a sacking, but in the end it was the right thing.  Our defence has collapsed, but if you insist on putting Hutton and Jedinak in it, and not replacing the goalkeeper properly, that will happen.

Let's not forget that Bruce has had a tough few months, with his parents passing, and the confusion in the summer with Xia's cash disappearing just when we needed it to mend the problems in the team.  There are many managers in the past that I grew to properly dislike, but not Steve Bruce.  Just his football, and mostly just this season.

I'm not too sure many had anything against Bruce personally but, he didn't help himself by calling out the fans as being mad.  All very O'Learyish so what did he expect.  He's incompetent and in football that just isn't tolerated, although as a club it took us a long time to rectify it.

Thank FECK he's finally gone. Now to get somebody in who's actually got a clue how to get the best out of the talent we clearly have at the club. It ain't bleedin' rocket science!

I too felt that due to the summer turmoil and the late stage in the close season that a new manager would have come in quite rightly dictated that Bruce should continue, with him knowing what was needed in the short time left to bring in players. I also felt a man who took us to one game away from promotion deserved another shot.  But quite simply one win in ten games is not acceptable. Whether you are a manager looking to get a club promoted, looking to stabilize a club in mid table or simply just looking to avoid relegation I would suggest that a run of one win in ten games would get you sacked in any of those situations.

The easy, and obvious part has been done. Now it's up to the owners / ceo to choose the right replacement.
