I'm watching MOTD with the boy. It's quite a good program, affable host, cracking entertainment dished up by some of the modern giants of the game, perhaps our manager might like to give it a watch, maybe pick up a few ideas.

But what do I know, how many teams have I got promoted? None, so maybe I should just shut up and let the specialist get on with it.

Now thinking of taking some pins with me on Tuesday to stick in my eyes.

I agree with pretty much all of that Newby but in my view the new owners have to acknowledge what you call "catcalls" from the fans.

It is far more serious than that.  There is already a massive resentment on the part of loyal, intelligent and patient supporters.  We have three season tickets in a row in the Holte Lower with over 150 years of following Villa between us.  This season my older son has not been to a Villa game home or away.  My younger son has gone to one away game.  I have endured three home and one away games.  Even the intensely ultra loyal away fans are in revolt.

This is a full blown crisis.  The next half dozen games if the current drift is allowed to continue will see us cemented as a second class football club.

I'm not too sure about full blown crisis. It's not quite as bad as that but a change does have to be made.

Speaking yesterday to my Stripey Filth brethren, they ought to have had 5 or 6. I think we'll beat Preston (+2 net gain CD) but I can't see us beating Milwall (+1 net gain CD!) despite how poor they are.

Anything less than 6 points then he must go.

There's no rationale behind it whatsoever, but I'm calmly self-assured in my belief that he's gone, no matter what.

In my head, we get six points this week, and during the Millwall post-match interview, someone comes over and whispers in his ear, he turns, shaking his head, mutters something about "wur car keys", and trudges off, never seen by us again.

There then follows a brief spell of utter despair, akin to the end of Dr. Jo, rapidly followed by an elation the likes of which we've not felt since the unveiling of BFR.

Yeah I heard that too.  My pal filmed the villa fans singing.it. The problem is fist face knows the games up for him but he's not going to do the honourable thing and walk. He's biding his time waiting for the his payoff.

I’m sure we’re part of the ‘mad few’ who don’t understand he’s doing a good job.

We are doing well not be in the bottom 6. After the summer upheaval and uncertainty this season was always going to be a rebuilding job  and a fight  against relegation and to stabilize.
