With the squad we have we should be top.

With the squad we had last season we should have been promoted by March.

I’m sure we’re part of the ‘mad few’ who don’t understand he’s doing a good job.

He said he hopes he is given time, well you can excuse a manager who has been here a short time and wants to educate his players into his game plan but he's had two bloody years and he has no idea but to ask the players to go out and do their best. I can only believe it is the fair play restrictions that are holding up the inevitable.

Like I said before, Steve Bruce is in ground hog day mode and he still thinks he's only been at the club for 2 months.

Get in a couple of utterly naive owners, gullible, vain and easily manipulated.  Add a number of incompetent, bungling, overpaid executives. Mix in a group of bullying (allegedly) bombastic, half arsed coaches topped off with a sequence of managers with health, personality, character and intelligence deficiencies.  Serve with a garnish of sycophantic media groin rubbers.

Ram down the throats of the supporters.
How do we get it so wrong so consistently? Different owners different execs all making piss poor decisions😥

I've just been having a look at the league tables for the first time since the early games of the season. Pleasing to see Utd in 10th spot in the Premier with Watford and Leicester (say it quietly, and wolves) ahead of them.

Then we turn to the championship - villa in 14th spot- 3 points ahead of the undead and baggies and leedscum 1st and 2nd. Bruce has to go. Had my vote for two seasons, but surely just a question of when, not if, now.

Perhaps the new owners should've gone for Thierry Henry after the takeover?  Most people were somewhat duped into thinking of Bruce as the 'safe' option. West Brom appointed an absolute rookie in Darren Moore - look where they are now.....

I hate to say it and will wash my mouth out when I go to the bathroom but given the resources, the players, the length of time and the unswerving support of the board any of or managers as far back as O'Leary with the exception of the scoundrel Eric Black would have us better placed than we are now.

We have no-one of that ilk at the club. We had Kevin Mac and Sid and wouldn't have wanted them as manager. Moore has done really well - probably helps that he is as big as Everest and doesn't look like he suffers fools gladly.

Do they stick or twist? The owners will see that he has many new players, who need time to gel. But, they Will also see that our start is worse than last season and that we have a Manager who is not getting a tune out of his players. They will also hear the catcalls for his head from supporters.  They appear to be highly motivated, successful and ambitious but also have one of the games so called, promotion experts in Bruce.  Therefore, until it’s even worse than it is now, and we are going crazy for his head or are losing more consistently, I think they will adopt the old mantra of ‘if in doubt, do nowt’.

Such a huge risk as the opportunity for promotion will be gone and the disconnect between fans and club further eroded.  Of course, they could instantly improve that by appointing someone great to compensate but we are still left with yet more championship football.  My advice would be to sack him anyway as we are getting worse, not better.

It is also worth remembering that we will lose yet another 10 players this summer with the loans and out of contract players going.  I’d like to think that Christian Purslow also has an eye on that too.  All well and good saying they want stability, but that cycle of activity does not bring it in any way, shape or form and also gives Bruce yet another ready made excuse.

Aston Villa FC  What has happened to us?

Aston Villa 2010 to Present Day: How Not to Run a Football Club

You could include the 10 years before that as well.

I agree with pretty much all of that Newby but in my view the new owners have to acknowledge what you call "catcalls" from the fans.

It is far more serious than that.  There is already a massive resentment on the part of loyal, intelligent and patient supporters.  We have three season tickets in a row in the Holte Lower with over 150 years of following Villa between us.  This season my older son has not been to a Villa game home or away.  My younger son has gone to one away game.  I have endured three home and one away games.  Even the intensely ultra loyal away fans are in revolt.

This is a full blown crisis.  The next half dozen games if the current drift is allowed to continue will see us cemented as a second class football club.

It is literally promotion or bust this season. As bad as we have been so far, playing all the dross teams, with the better teams yet to play, we are only 6 points short. With the squad we have we should be ten points clear at the top by now. Random team selection, useless substitutions, complete lack of tactics and game plan are all down to the manager and his support staff. Now is the time to change. It will be too late at Xmas. A good management team now will have time to turn this season around. Bruce has gone as far as he is capable of going with us. We are all sick and tired of his type of football. Time for Bruxit.
