Well I'm happy we won but I'm not happy he's still here, finishing the game against that shower of shite without a recognised striker on the pitch, again.

And then he has the bloody nerve to have a go at the fans again after the game.

Just do one Bruce.

"But, overall, with all the nonsense that's been written, I'm pleased. We've won a game, we are in the top six and it looks a bit more rosy for everybody"

So there you go folks. Nothing to worry about.

After he removed Kodjia and Abraham it was 5 at the back and 5 midfielders running around getting in each others way Bruce style total football.

First clean sheet of season and he feels he in a position to make sarcastic remarks about Jedinek at CB

It's just starting to look like one of those situations where a long-time decent, adequate manager finally gets found out. The attempt to pointscore with the fans after one barely-par win is very telling (no disrespect to Rotherham, but his remit is promotion).

The game was won by then and we still had Bolaisie and Adomah on the pitch.

Ah yes ‘nonsense’ to be unhappy with 5 games without a win.

Glad Conor and Kodjia started. Glad also that Bruce decided to checkout the pre-match thread and decided to select a forward thinking team with no recognised DM, the only surprise being Jedi at cb. This one game doesn't indicate he knows what he's doing, as playing at home especially, we should be taking the game to most/all teams without a DM and forward thinking players and he's had 2 years to work this out! Imagine what our midfield and attackers could achieve under a proper manager who knows tactics, formations and coaching! The defence still worries me (due in main to a Bruce f-ck up). Well done the starting 11 and subs in getting all 3 points!

It wasn’t the right time for him to be having a pop at the supporters. He should be keeping his powder dry until after a few more games, as he’s going to get monumental abuse if we are poor again soon. He’s starting to grate with me and I think he’s a nice chap.

I've lifted the direct quotes from the Express and Star and ignored the rest of the article.

“I have got four promotions, last year I nearly had a fifth. Yet I don’t know what I am doing?

"Unfortunately it filters through the mad few.

We are Villa and the expectation and belief is huge but common sense is needed.

“The vast majority of supporters are right behind what we are trying to do. You can feel it in the stadium. If they wanted me out, the stadium would have erupted with it before the start.

“The supporters can see we had a bloody awful performance at Sheffield. Now we are sitting in sixth. I hope it shuts a few up. But I doubt it.”

“I’m pleased for them. With all the nonsense which has been written the right response was to win.

“I think my record speaks for itself. They all need a chance to settle in but when they do I know we are going to be there or thereabouts again.

“The nonsense, I can’t stop. But I will do, given time.”

: “I think we have been close, apart from two games - Sheffield United and the cup game, when I made nine changes.

“Apart from that I thought we looked a decent team against Ipswich, a very decent team against Brentford.

“Reading we conceded in the last few minutes. The most intelligent people will see all through the nonsense and see we have the makings of a decent team.”

There's so much bullshit, contradiction, and offensive shite in this. I'm sure he's been told another defeat and he's gone. Or, he's deluded.

It's not the first time he has come out with this kind of stuff, it's a pretty regular occurrence.  Every time he does it, he talks as if he has only just started the job and not been in post for nearly two years now.

It sounds like he's wearing a tin hat and a tin foil coat. When managers are so defensive in interviews it's usually close to the end for them....fingers crossed.

I am beginning to worry that our new owners are as weak and media manipulated as Lerner and Xia.  To me he is, to steal a phrase from the great David Lacey, a stoker on the bridge.  He ploughs his own course ignoring the charts, the rocks, the icebergs and the screams of the paying passengers as nonsense.

He's never going to go while we're towards the top. I equally don't have a problem with him defending his piece either.

Football fans are a very delicate bunch of ickle flowers when it comes to people giving them jip back.

But he's got to deliver. And he hasn't been. 1 win in 6 is mince. Certainly poor results happen. Real Brentford Munich drew 1-1 away at Ipswich, much to Sir Alex Pep Smith's consternation.

But it is pretty frustrating that with all at his disposal we grind into these quaigmires for 5-6 games 2 or 3 times a season. It's cost us automatic promotion and we cannot afford for it to happen again.
