My point about Dyche wasn't that he would be sacked - just that he might be more amenable to leaving

I think he will survive for now.  We may be putting out feelers but i doubt we've got anyone lined up. I see him beating blackburn and rotherham so that will keep him in a job till at least the end of September sadly.

I'd be quite happy if we win  our next two matches.

I think you know exactly what he means, and whilst I never want Villa to loose, I also want Bruce to be sacked or resign as I do not believe we will be promoted with him as manager. Of course that is only my opinion.

I know exactly what he means.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, I think. But what do you mean??

It looks an awful lot like he wants to the Villa to lose.

Really? Ok I didn't take that from his post. I thought he meant that in spite of Bruce we would probably win the next two and the pro Bruce or accepting of the situation, posters, supporters, would be justified in him staying. But hey I guess we can all read different things into other peoples statements. For clarity I hope Bruce goes sooner rather than later, regardless of Villa winning, drawing or being defeated. Maybe Sickbegger could comment?

I'd rather not tbh. Too many people trying to start pointless arguements imo. Lets just say you and others got my point even if Dave didn't.

Ok, fair point, good man.

The idea of him staying 2 more games seems such a waste. International break, get it done now. He's failed, completely. We are completely unbalanced at the back, and have no pattern of play going forward. We spent pre season trying 352, then bought in Jedinak in a 4 man back line for the second game, after we won at Hull with Elphick there. None of his decisions have been logical at all. Much like the last days of Lambert, he's completely lost his way and is now making illogical decisions. Last season Terry held the side together and organised the back 4 completely. Without him there is a problem that the others seemingly don't know their role.

That’s exactly what I read into his post too, we will undoubtedly win the next two games and be stuck with Bruce for longer. It’s exactly how I feel too and I definitely don’t want us to lose any game for any reason. I only hope that the owners and CEO recognise what a poor manager Bruce is and sack him before he gets a chance to bluff his way to next bad run when we come up against half decent teams

What's the fucking point in Bruce staying even if we beat Rotherham and Blackburn, which by the way is by no means certain seeing as we haven't beaten Burton, Reading, Ipswich, Brentford or Sheff Utd?

As someone else pointed out, the cycle starts again, little winning run, Bruce getting all smug and making comments about expectations and bed wetters, performances satisfactory if a little shite because of the points, hit a bad spell, look appalling, lose ground, rinse repeat start again, same errors, same pattern, same square pegs in round holes. It's all a waste of time.

He's been here 2 years now, not 2 months and you could rewind to 20 months ago and find similar faults that you find now. He's tried buying and loaning his way out of the division to mask over his deficiencies and it still doesn't work.

Can anyone come up with a single, realistic reason of why they expect things to improve out of the blue and Bruce lead us on a charge to promotion?

He can fuck off for me and take his posse of shithouse nose backroom staff with him, they're as bland as he is the big potatoey bastard.

There is no point in Bruce staying as I do not think he can get us promoted

Nowt to do with me, but I suspect the 'sadly' relates to Bruce staying rather than the two wins. I take it Blackburn and Rotherham are more gash than Ipswich and Reading? I think the chances of winning those two and getting rid of Bruce in the near future are about the same.

I think bruce is bloody lucky again with the teams coming up. If it was Leeds and WBA coming up , two of the teams we should be up against for promotion and get beaten , hes a goner . Hes just lucky its Blackburn and Rotherham which he will probably scrap 4 or 6 pts and paper the cracks. Then it will drag on until Christmas with more crap performances coming up.

Can we do it the other way around? If the board decide he has to be replaced there's no point sacking him until we are sure we're got the right man lined up to replace him. The only other alternative would be to bring in a Caretaker Manager but we don't have many likely candidates around Villa Park right now. Let's get the points on the board whilst searching heaven and earth for a new capable manager. Who knows, maybe before the end of the international break we'll have found our man.

Judging from the attitude of the players yesterday, I'd be surprised if we get anything from the next couple of games.

It looked to me like they'd more or less given up. Never a good sign for a manager's longevity.

Theres not a chance that he's seeing the season out. May aswell get it sorted asap and give ourselves as much time as possible.
