Looks to me like Bruce didn't expect to still be manager this season. Preparations seem half arsed.

He was in Portugal for weeks, playing golf!
Last season was exactly same. We played piss poor friendlies and a tournament of games that lasted 45 minutes each. Went into the season totally unprepared and played catch up for most of it. Meanwhile Wolves played a tournament against top opposition and picked up some top players in the process. It's nothing short of dereliction of duty by Bruce & co. They should all be fired for that alone regardless of the shitfest we've already been treated to this season.

When he says in that interview, "all I ask the players is to put their boots on, roll their sleeves up and have a go", pretty much sums up his tactics and our play...clueless!

Think next two weeks is ideal time to get rid.

We have time to source a replacement and we're not too far adrift yet of the top 2 although obviously it's becoming more of a gap by each game.

We also have plenty of winnable games in September.

So far this season our level has been poor. I wasn't followed by our opening two wins and the results have certainly balanced out in the last three weeks.

Even with all these new attacking players I'm not even convinced we'll finish in the top 6 due to how back the backline is and that would be a disaster so I'd attack now rather than give him another 6-7 games for us to drop plenty more points.

If Bruce stays we’ll finish mid-table, our level, particularly defensively, has been way below par.

He’s says he knows what he’s doing. Steve - you are the only one now that thinks that. Literally.

Of course he has to leave, resign or be sacked, to think otherwise is just silly, with the greatest of respect to Villa fans with a different opinion

Steve, we weren't singing it beacuse we are "frustrated", we were singing it because we can all see that the players have literally no clue what it is you are trying to achieve, the lack of belief in what you're asking them to do was palpable today. Your post match interview made me want to spew. If you ahd a shred of decency you'd have gone by the time I was back at my car.

How can he come out and say he's picked 4 or 5 who haven't trained all week? If you do that, you're gonna get a spanking whoever you're playing.  Man's lost the plot.

Only thing I can say in his defence is I wanted him gone at this point last season when we had 1 win from our opening 7 games.

He turned that situation around but I don't have same confidence this time simply due to how bad we are at the back.

Having attended today’s game, 8 can quite categorically state I don’t think the team know what he wants them to do. Our lack of physicality is frightening.

We have 3 players out of the back 4 not playing in their natural position. It’s not hard to see why there’s no balance or understanding. It’s fucking basic.

Away crowd just turned.

About time, no.

On avtv, it just looks like the players are jogging around. Is that the case in the flesh, Ads?

We didn't lay a glove on them. We were just absolutely devoid of anything. Utterly embarrassing.
I used to manage a team in the Coronation league division 3. I reckon I could hold the fort and keep them playing at the current level until they find the right man. I have to work 1 in 5 Saturdays but my mate Barry will look after things then. Feel free to PM me messrs Sawiris& Edens.
